VAALO and Primeasia University Organize Roundtable on “Why Value Matters in the Current Context of Society”

VAALO avant-garde ltd., in collaboration with Primeasia University, organized a special session of “Tea, Coffee & We” titled “Why Value Matters in the Current Context of Society” on 13 May 2026 at VAALO’s Corporate Office.

The roundtable discussion brought together faculty members from the Department of Public Health Nutrition of Primeasia University and the team members of VAALO avant-garde Ltd. The session was facilitated by Dr. Nazneen Akhter, who guided an engaging dialogue on the importance of values, ethics, and social responsibility in contemporary society.

The seminar explored the current state of values among young people and the challenges of maintaining ethical and responsible behavior in everyday life. Participants emphasized that values are learned not only through education, but also from family, society, institutions, and daily practice.

Key discussions highlighted the role of teachers in shaping students’ moral perspectives, the importance of discipline, the gap between theory and practical ethical behavior, and the impact of excessive technology exposure on youth values. Participants also stressed the need for stronger collaboration between families and educational institutions, along with value-oriented parenting, to build a more responsible generation.

The session concluded with an exciting next step — the initiative to establish a “Value Corner” at Primeasia University by VAALO avant-garde Ltd. The Value Corner will serve as a practical and interactive space to promote honesty, responsibility, and integrity among students through everyday actions and engagement.

Together, let us inspire a generation driven not only by knowledge, but also by integrity, empathy, and responsibility.

VAALO Continues Heatwave Response with Hydration Support in Dhaka

On April 22, 2026, VAALO once again stepped forward to support vulnerable communities facing extreme summer heat in Dhaka. Building on last year’s initiative, the team carried out a coordinated distribution of hydration packs across Banani, Mohakhali, and Gulshan, Dhaka.

More than 100 individuals benefited from the initiative, including rickshaw pullers, food delivery workers, women, children, and pedestrians who spend long hours outdoors and remain most exposed to heat-related risks.

With temperatures rising and heatwaves becoming more intense, the initiative focused on preventing dehydration, heat exhaustion, and related health concerns. Each carefully prepared package included a 1-liter bottle of mineral cold water, 8 packs of SMC Tasty Saline (Flavored) to restore essential electrolytes, and 8 packs of Taste Me Instant Soft Drink Powder enriched with Vitamin A, C, and Calcium to support overall health. In addition, 100 gamchas (traditional cotton towels) were distributed to help individuals cope with the heat more comfortably.

The distribution was carried out by VAALO team members, Student ambasador, who ensured smooth coordination across all three locations. Their efforts helped reach individuals at critical points throughout the day, especially those working under direct sun for extended periods.

Recipients expressed appreciation for the timely support, highlighting how small but essential supplies like clean drinking water, oral saline, and gamchas can make a meaningful difference during extreme heat conditions.

VAALO’s continued commitment reflects a practical and compassionate response to climate-related challenges, reinforcing the importance of collective action in protecting community health.

Interactive Open Discussion Session on "Why number matters; transforming numbers into value"

Date: 24th April ,2026
Time: 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Venue: Primeasia University Auditorium (IQAC Hall, 7th Floor), Banani, Dhaka-1213
Organized by: VAALO avant-garde Ltd.
In collaboration with: Primeasia University
Supported by: Primeasia University Nutrition Club
Participants: Dean, Faculty Members and Students of Primeasia University only.

Background and Rationale
In an increasingly complex world, data has become the common language of progress across all disciplines from Nutrition and Pharmacy to Engineering, Business, and Textile. However, the true power of information lies not in the numbers themselves, but in our ability to interpret them. This seminar, organized by the Primeasia University Nutrition Club, serves as a cross-departmental initiative to decode the role of data in professional and academic success.

The Core Theme: Why Number Matters?
Data is the foundation of evidence-based decision-making. Whether it is tracking health outcomes in Nutrition, optimizing supply chains in Business, or refining processes in Engineering, numbers provide the "Why" behind our actions. This seminar explores how to move beyond basic calculation to develop an analytical mindset, ensuring that every student at Primeasia University can transform raw information into meaningful, value-added outcomes.

Objectives
1. To demonstrate practical frameworks for converting quantitative data (biochemical, anthropometric, dietary, agricultural, and environmental) into meaningful interpretations and decisions.
2. To showcase real-world examples of how numbers have been transformed into life-changing, industry-shaping, and society-improving value.
3. To inspire students and young professionals to think critically about the role of evidence in nutrition advocacy, clinical practice, industry innovation, and policy formulation.
4. To motivate students from all departments to see themselves as future leaders who turn data into impact.

National Dissemination of Bangladesh HNAP 2026–2031 Organized by MoHFW

On 31 March 2026, Bangladesh marked a significant milestone in advancing its climate-resilient health system through the national dissemination of the Health National Adaptation Plan (HNAP) 2026–2031. The dissemination event was held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon and was organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), with support from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Md. Khorshed Alam, Additional Secretary of the Health Services Division (HSD), MoHFW, attended the event as the Chief Guest, alongside senior government officials. Dr. Rajesh Narwal, Deputy WHO Representative to Bangladesh, participated as the Special Guest. In his remarks, Dr. Narwal highlighted that while Bangladesh is globally recognized for its leadership in climate action, countries contributing the least to climate change often bear the greatest health burdens. He reaffirmed WHO’s commitment to supporting Bangladesh in operationalizing the HNAP through technical guidance, capacity building, strengthening climate–health intelligence systems, and facilitating access to climate financing.

The dissemination event brought together representatives from government, development partners, civil society, academia, and the private sector, fostering dialogue for coordinated action on climate and health. Discussions emphasized the importance of large-scale implementation and the adoption of a whole-of-society approach to effectively address climate-related health challenges.

In 2024, WHO selected VAALO avant-garde Ltd. to complete the assignment of updating the HNAP 2026–2031. The assignment was successfully completed with the technical support of WHO and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The VAALO consultant team included Dr. M. Salim Uzzaman (Health Expert and Lead Consultant), Dr. Mohammad Zahirul Islam (Climate Expert and Consultant), Dr. Mohammad Mushtuq Husain (Technical Advisor), and Dr. Nazneen Akhter (Technical Advisor and Founder and Managing Director of VAALO avant-garde Ltd.). Members of VAALO’s “Team in Action” also contributed substantively throughout the assignment, providing technical inputs and supporting the overall development process of the HNAP.

By contributing to this assignment, VAALO has achieved a milestone in its excellence and has taken a step to create a positive social impact. VAALO believes this plan will bring essential social changes through it's effective implementation.

Following the completion and validation process, the Government of Bangladesh finalized and published the document, which is now publicly accessible at https://iedcr.gov.bd/pages/static-pages/6922ddf9933eb65569e17666

Due to the ongoing power situation across the country, we’ve taken steps to reduce electricity use at our office.

We already switched off all of our air conditioners, and the use of other electrical equipment is limited to essential needs only.

As part of this effort, our office hours will be temporarily adjusted in line with government guidance. Effective 5 April, office hours will be 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Sunday–Wednesday).

To help manage time efficiently, please avoid scheduling meetings after 4:00 PM.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and support as we work through this together.
