সামুদ্রিক মাছের পাইকারি বাজার যেখানে ফ্রিজিং গাড়িতে করে মাছগুলো আনা হয় এবং সরাসরি ক্রেতা ও বিক্রেতার মধ্যে ডাকের মাধ্যমে বিক্রি হয় । সামুদ্রিক বিভিন্ন ধরনের মাছ এখানে বিক্রি হয় সেই মাছগুলোকে ডাকের মাধ্যমে পাইকাররা কিনে নিয়ে যায় এবং খুচরা বাজারে বিক্রি করে।

দেশীয় তাজা শিং মাছ। বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন স্থানে যেমন পুকুর ডুবা খাল বিলে এই মাছগুলো দেখা যায়। বর্তমানে বিভিন্ন পুকুরের আবদ্ধ অবস্থায় শিং মাছ চাষ করা হচ্ছে । এই মাছটি খুবই সুস্বাদু এবং পুষ্টিকর। মাছটাই কাটা না থাকায় ছোট ছোট বাচ্চাদের খাওয়া উপযোগী এবং যারা কাটা পছন্দ করে না তাদের জন্য খুবই কার্যকর একটি মাছ। বাংলাদেশের পাইকারি হাট গুলো থেকে বিভিন্ন খুচরা হাটে এগুলো বিক্রি হয়। বড় বড় বাজার থেকে এই মাছগুলো সংগ্রহ করে আমাদের কাছে পৌঁছে দেওয়া হয়। এই মাছগুলো সহজেই মরে না সামান্য একটু পানিতেই ওরা অধিক সময় জীবিত থাকতে পারে।

জীবন্ত তেলাপিয়া মাছকে অক্সিজেন যুগান দিচ্ছে পানির ঢেউ এর সাথে তরঙ্গ সৃষ্টি করে। একজন ভদ্রলোক পানিতে ঢেউ সৃষ্টি করছেন এবং সেই ঢেউ এর সাথে তরঙ্গের সৃষ্টি হয়ে অক্সিজেন যোগাচ্ছে যার ফলে তেলাপিয়া মাছগুলো জীবিত অবস্থায় আছে।
