Let us start our journey with the definition of “project”.
Companies, big or small, implement projects to modify their business processes, launch new product or revamp existing product. The main objective of a project is to implement a change. This change enhances the current performance of the company and takes the performance level to a desired stage.
In a nutshell, a project –
Has a beginning (start date)
Implements a change
Delivers a value
Has a finishing (end date)
A project can be tangible (bridge) or intangible (software). A project can focus on finance or marketing function of a company. A project can be implemented using Waterfall or Agile method. Whatever the characteristics of a project are, the objective is always a change and this change is for the better performance of the company.
