Souls in Green Birds

Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Their (shuhada’s) souls are in the crops of green birds, which have lamps hanging from the Throne, and they roam freely wherever they want in Paradise, then they return to those lamps. Their Lord looked down upon them and said: ‘Do you desire anything?’ They said: ‘What could we desire, when we can roam freely wherever we want in Paradise?’ He (subhanahu wa ta’ala) did that with them three times, and when they saw that they would not be left without being asked, they said: ‘O Lord, we want You to restore our souls to our bodies so that we may be killed in Your cause again.’ When He saw that they had no need, they were left alone.” [The Book of Leadership: Sahih Muslim]

This was the reply given by Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) when Abdullah Ibn Masud (radi Allahu anhu) asked him about this ayat: “And do not regard those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead, rather, they are alive with their Lord, being provided for.” [Al-Quran 3:169]

While the rest of humankind is in their graves, the shuhada go straight to Jannat to begin to enjoy its blessings. They are so happy here that there is nothing more that they can desire. When Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) insists on asking them what else they could want, they say that they desire to be martyred again for Allah's cause in order to become more worthy of the extreme felicity that they are enjoying.

They are in this form of birds in Paradise till the Day of Judgment; the period known as the ‘barzakh’. Then their souls will be put into the bodies that the people of Jannat will have, after which they will enjoy life in Jannat in the form mentioned in numerous ahadith and in the Quran.

The best bargain that could be made is the bargain we made with Allah (subhana wa ta’ala), that is to exchange our short earthly lives obeying Allah, in exchange for immortality spent in never ending happiness.

A woman came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! I have come to give you myself in marriage (without Mahr)." Allah's Apostle looked at her. He looked at her carefully and fixed his glance on her and then lowered his head. When the lady saw that he did not say anything, she sat down. A man from his companions got up and said, "O Allah's Apostle! If you are not in need of her, then marry her to me." The Prophet said, "Have you got anything to offer?" The man said, "No, by Allah, O Allah's Apostle!" The Prophet said (to him), "Go to your family and see if you have something." The man went and returned, saying, "No, by Allah, I have not found anything." Allah's Apostle said, "(Go again) and look for something, even if it is an iron ring." He went again and returned, saying, "No, by Allah, O Allah's Apostle! I could not find even an iron ring, but this is my Izar (waist sheet)." He had no rida. He added, "I give half of it to her." Allah's Apostle said, "What will she do with your Izar? If you wear it, she will be naked, and if she wears it, you will be naked." So that man sat down for a long while and then got up (to depart). When Allah's Apostle saw him going, he ordered that he be called back. When he came, the Prophet said, "How much of the Quran do you know?" He said, "I know such Sura and such Sura," counting them. The Prophet said, "Do you know them by heart?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet said, "Go, I marry her to you for that much of the Quran which you have."

Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, climbed upon the mimbar (pulpit) and said: "Aameen [O Allah grant it], aameen, aameen". So it was said, "O Messenger of Allah, you climbed upon the mimbarand said : "aameen, aameen, aameen"? So he said :"Jibraa'eel, `alaihi assalam, came to me and said, 'Whoever reaches the month of Ramadan and does not have [his sins] forgiven and so enters Fire, then may Allah distance him, say aameen". So I said "aameen"...etc

[Ibn Khuzaimah, Ahmad and al-Baihaqui : Sahih]

Let's not be among those who Allah will distance him, let's not lose ramadan —

In Saudi they wanted to show the approx size of Adam (A.S) by making a garment in his size.

This was the idea of Hamdan with the help of 4 tailors. It took 18 days and 40 rolls of cloths were needed. The length of the garment is 29 meters: 9m between the shoulders, 12m width of the bottom, 10m length of the sleeves and 2m width of neck.

Narrated by Abu Hurayrah (R.A): The Prophet (S.A.W) said: Allaah created Adam in His image sixty cubits (about 30 metres) in height. When He created him, He said to him, Go and greet that group of angels sitting there, and listen (to) what they will say in reply to you, for that will be your greeting and the greeting of your offspring. Aadam (went and) said As-Salaam alaykum (peace be upon you). They replied As-Salaamu-alayka wa Rahmatullaah (peace and Allaah's Mercy be on you). So they increased it toWa Rahmatullaah. The Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam added, So whoever will enter paradise, will be of the shape and picture of Aadam. Since then the creation of Aadam's (as)offspring (i.e. stature of human beings) has been diminished continuously up to the present time.

Umrah in Ramadaan is equivalent to Hajj!!!
Narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas said: The Messenger of ALLAH (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) said to a woman among the Ansaar, “What kept you from doing Hajj with us?” She said, “We only had two camels that we used for bringing water.” So her husband and son had gone for Hajj on one camel, and he left the other for them to use for bringing water.” He said, “When Ramadaan comes, go for ‘Umrah, for ‘Umrah in Ramadaan is equivalent to Hajj.”
According to a report narrated by Muslim, “… is equivalent to doing Hajj with me.”

{Al-Bukhaari 1782 and Muslim 1256}

Question: I was fasting in Ramadaan and I slept after fajr, and I had a wet dream; is my fasting valid?

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

Having a wet dream during the day in Ramadaan does not invalidate the fast, because this is a matter that is beyond a person’s control, and he cannot prevent it. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Allaah burdens not a person beyond his scope”[al-Baqarah 2:286]

“If a man experiences a wet dream this does not invalidate his fast, because it was involuntary on his part; it is similar to the case when something enters his throat whilst he is sleeping.”

See al-Mughni by Ibn Qudaamah, vol. 3, p. 22

The Standing Committee was asked about a man who had a wet dream during the day in Ramadaan – what is the ruling on that? They replied:

Whoever has a wet dream whilst he is fasting or is in a state of ihraam for Hajj or ‘Umrah, there is no sin on him and he does not have to offer expiation (kafaarah). It does not affect his fast, but he does have to do ghusl to cleanse himself from janaabah (impurity) if maniy (semen) was emitted.
