Earlier this week NCCI - Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bangladesh hosted their annual flagship post-budget dialogue titled, “𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 2026”.

The session featured a keynote presentation by Mr. Snehasish Barua, who unpacked the Finance Act 2026 and highlighted its implications for businesses, from corporate taxation and VAT changes to macroeconomic priorities, fiscal discipline, and the need for a broader tax base to support sustainable growth.

We were also honoured to welcome Mr. Md. Jafar Imam, First Secretary, Income Tax Policy & Mr. Md. Tarek Hasan, First Secretary, Customs Policy and ICT, from the National Board of Revenue, Bangladesh (NBR), whose perspectives enriched the discussion and provided valuable clarity on the evolving tax and regulatory landscape.

In Bangladesh, the company has played a significant role in the power sector, delivering more than 5 GW of power capacity while supporting the country’s transition toward cleaner and more reliable energy solutions.

The session featured Dr. Rashed Uz Zaman, who shared sharp insights on Bangladesh’s evolving geopolitical landscape and its impact on trade, investment, competitiveness, and long-term growth.

As global dynamics increasingly shape business decisions, the discussion offered timely perspectives for leaders navigating risk, opportunity, and Bangladesh’s strategic future.

The Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Industry successfully convened its Annual General Meeting yesterday, marking an important milestone in the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Nordic–Bangladesh business collaboration.

The AGM saw a strong turnout and active engagement from members, reflecting both the relevance of the Chamber’s work and the growing interest in deepening bilateral trade, investment, and policy dialogue.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our members for their continued trust, participation, and valuable contributions. The strength of the Chamber lies in this collective commitment.

As we move forward, we remain focused on delivering tangible value to our members while reinforcing our role as a credible platform for dialogue, advocacy, and collaboration.
