The Physically-challenged Development Foundation-PDF celebrate the ‘International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2017 on 4th December at 10 at the University of Dhaka. In the first part of the Dhaka Discourse held on “Sustainable Development Goals & disability”.
At the session, the speakers talk about the importance of implementing SDGs and engagement of youth to ensure disability inclusion in the mainstream society.
Dr. Akhtaruzzaman, the vice-chancellor of the University of Dhaka said that according to the SDGs law and UN law we need to provide the equal rights to the physically-challenged challenged people and for establishing this rights DU authority will give all the support.
Pro vice-chancellor of the University of Dhaka said that through the SDGs the dream of inclusive society will be fulfilled. In terms of that, the rules and regulation of the plan should be improved.
Shafiq Ul Azam, the Managing Director of MIDAS Financing Lmt., focused on his discussion about the social concept and added that if the concept will change physically challenged people will get equal chance 8n every sector.
Dr. Ali Akkas included that we should not show sympathy to the physically-challenged people because we all have some disability.
Dr. Choudhury Rafikul Islam Abrar said that DU will be the model for other universities in terms of giving all the support to the physically-challenged people.
Touhidul Haq said that we have to provide equal rights and bring the physically-challenged people into the focus.
Ashrafun nahar mishty discussed the freedom of all people, all the people are equal and free.
Nazma Ara begum Poppy discussed the instructions, every educational institution need to treat physically-challenged students as equal as other.

৪ ডিসেম্বর, ২০১৭ ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ব্যবসায় শিক্ষা অনুষদের প্রফেসর হাবিবুল্লাহ কনফারেন্স হলে সকাল ১০টায় উদ্ধোধনীঅনুষ্ঠানের মধ্য দিয়ে এ আয়োজন শুরু হয় । আয়োজনের শুভ উদ্ধাধন করেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. আখতারুজ্জামান। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ফিজিক্যালি চ্যালেঞ্জড ডেভেলপমেন্ট ফাউন্ডেশন (পিডিএফ), ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এর আয়োজনে “আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিবন্ধী দিবস-২০১৭” অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। মাননীয় উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. আখতারুজ্জামান
বলেন, টেকসই উন্নয়ন লক্ষমাত্রার সাথে শিক্ষা, সুযোগের ক্ষেত্রে সমঅধিকার ও উন্নয়নের মূল স্রোতধারায় সম্পৃক্ত করা গেলে প্রতিবন্ধিরা সমাজের সম্পদে পরিনত হবেন । প্রতিবন্ধি শিক্ষার্থীদের উন্নয়নের স্রোতধারায় নিয়ে আসতে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় তার জায়গা থেকে কাজ করে যাবে বলে তিনি প্রত্যয় ব্যক্ত করেন । বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন, মাননীয় প্রো- উপাচার্য (শিক্ষা) । বিশেষ অতিথির বক্তব্যে তিনি বলেন যে, আগামীর বাংলাদেশকে সমৃদ্ধ ও উন্নত দেখতে হলে অবশ্যই প্রতিবন্ধি ব্যাক্তিদের সকল অধিকার প্রদান করতে হবে । সরকার ও সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষকে এগিয়ে আসার আহবান জানান তিনি । পিডিএফ অন্যান্যদের এ নিয়ে কাজ করে যাবে বলে তিনি প্রত্যাশা ব্যোক্ত করেন । বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মাইডাস ফাইনান্সিং লিমিটিডের সম্মানিত ম্যানেজিং ডিরেক্টর শফিক-উল-আজম উদ্ধোধনী অনুষ্টানে উপস্থিত থেকে তিনি মানূষদের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি পরিবর্তনে মনযোগী হবার ব্যাপারে তিনি গুরুত্বারোপ করেন । আরো বক্তব্য রাখেন ম্যানেজমেন্ট বিভাগের চেয়ারম্যান, অধ্যাপক ড. আলী আক্কাস । অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন কেন্দ্রীয় পিডিএফ-এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা ও সভাপতি মিজানুর রহমান কিরণ।
পরে “টৈকসই উন্নয়ন লক্ষমাত্রা ও প্রতিবন্ধিতা” এ বিষয়ের উপর একটি মতবিনিময় অনুষ্ঠান অনুষ্ঠিত হয় । আলোচক হিসেবে ছিলেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় আন্তর্জাতিক সম্পর্ক বিভাগের অধ্যাপক জনাব, ড. চৌধুরী রফিকুল আবরার । তিনি বলেন যে, সমৃদ্ধ একটি সমাজ ও টেকসই উন্নয়ন নিশ্চিত করতে হলে আমাদের সবার আগে চাই অধিকারের বাস্তবায়ন । সে ক্ষেদত্র তরুনদের অবশ্যই এগিয়ে আসতে হবে । সমাজকল্যান ইনষ্টিটিউটের সহকারী অধ্যাপক জনাব, তৌহিদুল হক, তিনি সমাজ উন্নয়ন ও সহিঞ্চু সমাজের জন্য পরতিবন্ধি ব্যাক্তিদের প্রবেশগম্যতা ও সামাজিক নিরাপত্তার উপর গরুত্বারোপ করেন । উইম্যান উইথ ডিসএবিলিটি ডেভলপমেন্ট ফাউন্ডেশনের নির্বাহী পরিচালক, আশরাফুন নাহার মিষ্টি । আরো আলোচনা রাখেন, নাজমা আরা বেগম পপি, সাধারন সম্পদক, বিভপস । আলোচনাটি সঞ্চালন করেন, পিডিএফের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা ও সভাপতি জনাব, মিজানুর রহমান কিরন ।
