যে দৃশ্যটি আমাকে প্রায়ই ভাবায়, তা হলো— স্বাধীন দেশে থেকেও আমরা অনেক সময় জাতীয় সংগীত চলাকালীন সময় দাঁড়িয়ে নিজের দেশের সার্বভৌমত্বের প্রতি সম্মান প্রদর্শন করতে পারি না।

সিনেমা হলে সিনেমা শুরু হওয়ার আগে যখন কয়েক সেকেন্ডের জন্য জাতীয় পতাকা প্রদর্শন করা হয় এবং জাতীয় সংগীত বাজানো হয়, তখন অনেক মা–বাবা ও তাঁদের সন্তানদের বসে থাকতে দেখা যায়।
