Today 21st December, 2021, DEVCOM in collaboration with United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA) Bangladesh have organized a webinar on “Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for the Climate-induced Migrant Women and Girls living in the Urban Slums”.
The discourse included welcoming remarks and overview from UNFPA Chief of Health Dr. Vibhavendra Singh Raghuvanshi. Dr. Iqbal Kabir, Focal Point, Climate Change and Health Promotion Unit, MOHFW was the special guest who graced the webinar with his closing remarks.
Panelists who shared their opinion were Dr. Yasmin H Ahmed, Independent Consultant; Professor Dr. Md. Rabiul Haque, Chairman, Department of Population Sciences, University of Dhaka; Dr. Afroz Mahal, Director, Plan International and Sadia Rahman Shupti, Youth SRHR Activist.
A presentation on the key findings of “Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for the Climate-induced Migrant Women and Girls living in the Urban Slums” have been delivered by Md. Azmal Hossain, Programme Analyst -- Urban Health, UNFPA Bangladesh and Mr. Hassan Imam, Managing Director, DEVCOM.
The webinar has been moderated by Dr. Dewan Md. Emdadul Hoque, Health Systems Specialist, UNFPA.
Representatives of the Government, UN Agencies, development partners, academia, researchers, International NGOs, NGOs from District and Divisional level and Development Practitioners working SRHR, Climate Change and Urban Health issues were present in the webinar.
