يَّنَالَ اللّٰهَ لُحُوۡمُهَا وَلَا دِمَآؤُهَا وَلٰكِنۡ يَّنَاوُهُ التَّقۡوٰى مِنۡكُمۡؕ كَذٰلِكَ سَخَّرَهَا لَكُمۡ لِتُكَبِّرُوا اللّٰهَ عَلٰى مَا هَدٰٮكُمۡؕ وَبَشِّرِ الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَ

‘লান ইয়ানাল্লাহা লুহূমুহা ওয়ালা দিমায়ুহা ওয়ালাকিন ইয়ানালুত-তাকওয়া মিনকুম; কজালিকা সাখখারাহা লাকুম লিতুকাব্বিরুল্লাহা আলা মা হাদাকুম; ওয়া বাশশিরিল মুহসিনিন।‘

"আল্লাহর কাছে এগুলোর (কুরবানীর পশুর) গোশত ও রক্ত পৌঁছে না, বরং তাঁর কাছে পৌঁছে তোমাদের মনের তাকওয়া (ভীতি ও ভালোবাসা)। এভাবেই তিনি সেগুলোকে তোমাদের অধীন করে দিয়েছেন, যাতে তোমরা আল্লাহর শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব ঘোষণা করতে পারো— এজন্য যে তিনি তোমাদের সৎপথ প্রদর্শন করেছেন। সুতরাং আপনি সৎকর্মশীলদের সুসংবাদ দিন।" (সূরা আল-হাজ্ব, ২২:৩৭)
