মাছ কি স্ট্রেস অনুভব করে?

সংক্ষিপ্ত উত্তর: হ্যাঁ।

মাছ মানুষদের মতো করে স্ট্রেস প্রকাশ করে না, কিন্তু তাদের শরীর ও আচরণই সব কিছু বলে দেয়।

মাছ স্ট্রেসে থাকলে আমরা প্রায়ই দেখি—

* দ্রুত বা অনিয়মিত সাঁতার কাটতে
* খাবার কম খেতে বা একেবারেই না খেতে
* দেহের রঙে পরিবর্তন আসতে
* রোগ প্রতিরোধ ক্ষমতা কমে যেতে এবং ব্যাকটেরিয়া, ভাইরাল ও ফানগাল রোগের আক্রমণের ঝুঁকি বেড়ে যেতে।

এগুলো কোনোভাবেই “স্বাভাবিক আচরণ” নয়। এগুলো হলো মাছের একটি শারীরবৃত্তীয় প্রতিক্রিয়া। স্ট্রেসে থাকলে মাছের শরীর থেকে স্ট্রেস হরমোন (যেমনঃ কর্টিসল) নিঃসৃত হয়, তাদের বিপাকক্রিয়া পরিবর্তিত হয় এবং শক্তি বৃদ্ধি ও উৎপাদনের বদলে পরিবেশে বেঁচে থাকার জন্য তারা শক্তি ব্যয় করে ফেলে ।

প্রতিনিয়তই মাছের স্ট্রেস সৃষ্টি হয় এমন অনেক অনেক কারণে, যেগুলোকে আমরা অবমূল্যায়ন করি যার ফলে আমরা মাছের উৎপাদন কমার পাশাপাশি আর্থিক ক্ষতির স্বীকার হতে পারি ।

সাধারণত কি কি কারণে মাছের স্ট্রেস হতে পারে??

১. পানির গুনগত মানের পরিবর্তন
২. হঠাৎ পরিবেশগত পরিবর্তন
৩. অধীক ঘনত্বে মাছ চাষ
৪. জাল টানা, পরিবহন,অতিরিক্ত শব্দ এবং বায়ু দূষণ
৫. ব্যাকটেরিয়া, ভাইরাস, ফানগাল ও বিভিন্ন পরজীবীর আক্রমণের ফলে
৬. পরিপাক তন্ত্র ঠিকমতো কাজ না করলে
৭. পানিতে অ্যামোনিয়া গ্যাসের আধিক্য বেড়ে গেলে
৮. সঠিক পরিমানে, সঠিক সময়ে গুনগত মান সম্মত খাবার প্রদান না করলে।

স্ট্রেস নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা কেন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ?

কারণ দীর্ঘমেয়াদি স্ট্রেস নিঃশব্দে মাছের উৎপাদনক্ষমতা ও রোগ প্রতিরোধ ক্ষমতা নষ্ট করে দেয়।
যার ফলে স্ট্রেসগ্রস্ত মাছ—
১. অনেক ধীরে বৃদ্ধি পায়
২. রোগ প্রতিরোধ ক্ষমতা কমে যাওয়ায় বেশি অসুস্থ হয়
৩. ফিডকে কম দক্ষতায় কাজে লাগায়

মৎস্য চাষে স্ট্রেস নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা একটি অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ। এটি মাছের শারীরবৃত্তিক কল্যাণ ও টেকসই উৎপাদনের একটি মূল অংশ।

সুস্থ মাছ মানে শুধু বেঁচে থাকা নয়—
সুস্থ মাছ শান্ত থাকে, স্বাভাবিকভাবে খাবার খায় এবং পরিবেশের সঙ্গে ভালোভাবে খাপ খাইয়ে নিতে পারে বলে রোগবালাই কম হয় । সেজন্য মাছকে স্ট্রেস মুক্ত রাখা মাছ চাষের জন্য অতীব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ও অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ।
