In science, it is not possible for a single l
aboratory to provide all kinds of solutions because of high investment costs and lack of specialized human resources. Part of the work is therefore outsourced or contracted to another laboratory ... a practice very common in the developed world. Plasma Plus was developed exactly to fill up this vacuum in Bangladesh. The Government People's Republic of Bangladesh has duly recognized this noble venture and in 1999 declared Plasma Plus as a non profit laboratory under Section 28 of the Companies Act, 1994. Today it is the only independent laboratory in the country to achieve the world class 17025 certification in specific areas of Food, Pharmaceuticals, Textile and Environment. Plasma Plus is Bangladesh's first laboratory to detect melamine in milk powder (infant formulae), analyze contaminated paracetamol syrup that killed children, detect lead in human blood, isolate arsenic in human blood, hair, nail in addition to contaminants in food, medicine and environmental samples. In recognition of Plasma Plus's pioneering contribution in science & technology, Plasma Plus has been chosen by FAO and JICA to train government scientists in the food and environment sector.
