DCCI President met Malaysia’s Deputy Finance Minister

President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) Taskeen Ahmed had a meeting with the Malaysian Deputy Finance Minister Liew Chin Tong at a city hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on September 24, 2026. During the meeting Taskeen Ahmed called upon the two friendly Muslim-majority countries to work more closely together while exploring new areas of economic cooperation to further expand bilateral trade and investment. He later invited Malaysian investors to invest in the energy sector of Bangladesh. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral trade partnerships, diversifying products and increasing mutual investment between the two countries. Malaysia’s Deputy Finance Minister Liew Chin Tong said that there is a significant demand for skilled manpower in Malaysia’s information and communications technology (ICT) sector. He noted that if Bangladesh’s large young population can be equipped with the necessary technical and professional training, significant employment opportunities could be created for them in Malaysia’s labour market.

Meanwhile, DCCI President Taskeen Ahmed is leading a business delegation to Malaysia to explore new opportunities of trade and investment.

Malaysian entrepreneurs keen to invest in Bangladesh’s ICT sector

DCCI delegation attended “Bangladesh Business Forum: Connecting Businesses, Forging Partnership and Expanding Opportunities”

A 39-member business delegation led by President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) Taskeen Ahmed participated a business discussion titled “Bangladesh Business Forum: Connecting Businesses, Forging Partnership and Expanding Opportunities” organized by the Klang Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) that was held on September 23, 2026 at the KCCCI auditorium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Chairman of SME Corp. Malaysia Teng Chang Khim, attended the event as the Special Guest. Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury was also present on the occasion.

To further expand cooperation in bilateral trade and investment, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between DCCI and KCCI. DCCI President Taskeen Ahmed and Klang Chamber President Jeffery Tan signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

Later, at least 40 B2Bs were held between the members of DCCI business delegation and representatives of the Klang Chamber during the event.

DCCI Senior Vice President Razeev H Chowdhury and Vice President Md. Salem Sulaiman are also accompanied the delegation.
