Empowering Women Through Professionalization of the Nursing Sector in Bangladesh (ProNurse), is a project of Cowater International funded by Global Affairs Canada “Empowering Women through Professionalization of the Nursing Sector in Bangladesh (ProNurse)” is a five years Project led by Cowater International which aims to enhance the voice, influence and empowerment of nurses in the health sector in Bangladesh. The expected results include: i) improved quality of gender-responsive education for female nurses in both public and private sectors in Bangladesh; ii) improved performance and professional status of female nurses in Bangladesh; and iii) improved enabling environment for female nurses’ increased participation in the health sector in Bangladesh.

Supporting nursing students beyond the classroom.

Access to hands-on learning opportunities is an important part of strengthening nursing education, that’s why we recently supported Kumudini Nursing College (KNC) with a new Toyota Commuter Microbus, helping students travel to other learning activities that strengthen practical training and professional development.
Edward Cabrera, First Secretary (Development - Health), High Commission of Canada to Bangladesh, has handed over the car keys to Sister Rina Magdaline Cruze, Principal, Kumudini Nursing College.

Supported through the ProNurse Project and funded by Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada, this initiative reflects a broader commitment to strengthening nursing education, advancing public-private collaboration and supporting a more inclusive and resilient health sector in Bangladesh. 🌍
