Eid al-Adha is celebrated on the 10th day of Zil Hajj of the Hizri calendar commemorating the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son to please Allah. “But the Almighty Allah in His benign mercy spared Hazrat Ismail (AS) and instead sent a ram to be sacrificed.” “To commemorate this event, Muslims across the country and around the world. will offer prayers in congregations and sacrifice animals in the name of Allah.”

Wishing everyone a Happy Bangla New Year 1431. (Pohela Boishakh) The traditional greeting for Bengal New Year is 'Shubho Nabobarsho' which means 'Happy New Year'. Bengal New Year, also known as 'Pohela Boishakh' is the first day in the Bengal calendar. Pohela means ‘first’ and Boishakh is first month of the Bengal calendar.

As Bengal New Year is based on a solar calendar it occurs on 14 April in the Gregorian calendar each year. It is an optional public holiday in Bangladesh and may be celebrated by Bengali communities all over the world. Traditions of Bengal new Year. Mughal Emperor Akbar introduced the Bengali calendar in 1556 (Gregorian calendar). Bengal New Year is celebrated at the time as many other new year’s in the region.

As with other new year’s traditions in the region. Bengali families clean their house and decorate them with colourful called alpana. This is intended to bring good luck and fortune to the household in the coming year. Bengali people different followers of different religions in different ways are celebrate their new year. The Independence Day of Bangladesh was declared on 26 March 1971 at the onset of the Bangladesh Liberation War by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman proclaimed Bangladesh's independence following the crackdown on unarmed Bangalees on the midnight of March 25 by Pakistani occupation forces.

Mid night, in 25 March, 1971, Pakistan army started a killing mission called 'Operation Search Light' on 7.5 crore Bangladeshi people. They arrested Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman the leader of Bangladesh. They attacked on universities, school, college, EPR (East Pakistan Rifels, Boarder guard of Pakistan), police lines and all other villages, town and cities. They started killing and burning everywhere. One million people crossed the border in that night.

26 March 1971, Bangladeshi Freedom Fighter started a bloody liberation war against the Pakistan military. Nine months War of Liberation with the supreme sacrifices of three million people and the honour of 200,000 women, Bangladesh finally achieved its victory on December 16, 1971. About 1 crore people made refugee during 9 months. Most of road, calvert, bridge and other construction were destroyed then. We get a costly freedom, because they operated one of the largest genocide of the world history in Bangladesh only among Nine months. Humble respect to all the martyrs of great liberation war in Bangladesh.
