We're delighted to welcome Shefayat Shams Adib to TRACE Consulting as our new Full Stack Developer! 🚀

Shefayat brings expertise in web engineering, applied AI, and scalable system architecture. He has delivered production-ready solutions for clients including bKash, Shourav Group, the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, and Rajuk College, and contributed to Bangladesh's National Airport portal, now being developed into the official government website.

He is also a published researcher: his PsyDefDetect system placed 3rd in the ACL BioNLP Workshop 2026 shared task. Shefayat holds a BSc in Software Engineering from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT).

As TRACE continues to advance digital transformation, his skills will help us build smarter, more scalable solutions for our clients.

🎉 TRACE Consulting has been awarded a new trade facilitation capacity-building project (Package SD-59) under the Bangladesh Regional Connectivity Project-1, Ministry of Commerce, with financing from the World Bank Group.

In collaboration with Orangebd, TRACE will develop an integrated E-Learning Platform for the Bangladesh Trade Portal (BTP), featuring 20+ bilingual modules on WTO/TFA, import-export procedures, SPS/TBT, international standards, trade finance, digital trade, and other key areas of cross-border trade.

The project will strengthen practical trade knowledge and regulatory compliance among traders, SMEs, business associations, and government officials.

We’re announcing a new project! TRACE Consulting has been selected to support the Rodolphe Mérieux Laboratory at Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases - BITID, Chattogram, in its journey toward ISO/IEC 15189:2022 accreditation, under a project funded by the Fondation Mérieux.

Through this project, TRACE will work with the laboratory on strengthening quality management systems, staff capacity, internal processes, and overall accreditation readiness, contributing to more reliable and internationally recognized diagnostic services.

This project also marks TRACE’s entry into the medical laboratory sector and adds a new area to our growing portfolio of institutional capacity building and quality infrastructure work.

The Import Policy Order (IPO) 2026–2029, issued by the Ministry of Commerce governs virtually every import into Bangladesh, setting out the conditions, procedures, restrictions, exemptions, and other requirements that importers, businesses, foreign investors, and compliance teams need to navigate.

Yet the IPO was gazetted in Bangla only, without an English Translation released alongside it. This is not a new problem. The previous Import Policy Order 2021–2024 also did not have an English translation released, creating continued difficulty for importers and businesses that rely on an accurate English text to understand and comply with import requirements.

Without a reliable English version, importers often have to depend on translators or machine translation to interpret complex provisions. This can lead to misunderstandings of conditions, HS code requirements, documentation obligations, exemptions, and other compliance requirements, resulting in avoidable delays and uncertainty.

To help address this gap, our team at TRACE Consulting has prepared a complete, clause-by-clause unofficial English translation of the Import Policy Order 2026–2029.
