Advice for Amazon FBA Sellers (2025–2026)

✔ Prep & Label Yourself
From 2026, Amazon will not prep/label your inventory. Do all packaging, labeling & barcoding before sending to FBA.

✔ Keep Invoices + Authorization Ready
Valid invoices (last 180 days) and brand LoA are required for ungating, approval, and avoiding “Your account doesn’t qualify”.

✔ Understand New Fee Changes
Inbound placement, storage, fulfillment & returns fees have increased—calculate profit before sending inventory.

✔ Build Sales History First
New sellers often see “Your account doesn’t qualify”. Start with ungated products to build performance, then apply for gated ones.

✔ Use Grade & Resell
Recover value from damaged/returned products by reselling through Amazon instead of removing inventory.

Amazon FBA 2025–2026: New Policy Updates Every Seller Must Know!

🔹 Reimbursement Policy Updated

Amazon will now reimburse lost or damaged FBA inventory based on manufacturing cost, not the retail price.
➡️ Expect lower reimbursement amounts.
➡️ Make sure your manufacturing cost is updated inside Seller Central.

🔹 FBA Prep & Labeling Services Ending (Jan 1, 2026)

Starting 2026, Amazon will STOP providing:

FNSKU labeling

Poly bagging

Bundling

Bubble wrapping

Any prep service

➡️ All products must arrive fully prepped & labeled before reaching Amazon fulfillment centers.
➡️ Use a 3PL / prep center or do it yourself.

🔹 FBA Fees Updated (2025 & 2026)

Amazon updated several fee structures:

Inbound placement fee changes

Fulfillment fee adjustments

Incentives for new ASINs

Slight fee increase expected in 2026

➡️ Check fees before pricing your products.

🔹 Grade & Resell Program Expanded

More returned products can now be resold under Grade & Resell.
New eligible categories:

Shoes

Apparel

Jewelry

Watches

Luggage

➡️ Better recovery on customer-returned items.

FBA Wholesale total Cost Breakdown:

1. Product Cost

This is the base price you pay to your supplier or manufacturer for each unit. It includes:

Manufacturing cost

Packaging from the supplier

Any customization or branding charges

Minimum order quantity (MOQ) pricing

2. Shipping Cost

The total cost to transport your inventory from the supplier to Amazon’s fulfillment center. This may include:

Air Freight: Fast, expensive, good for lightweight items

Sea Freight: Slow, cheaper, ideal for bulk shipments

SPD (Small Parcel Delivery): Boxes sent directly to Amazon

LTL (Less Than Truckload): Pallet shipments, cheaper than SPD for large quantities

FTL (Full Truckload): Whole truck shipments, best for very large loads

Customs duties, taxes, and port fees may also apply.

3. Amazon FBA Fees

These fees cover Amazon’s complete fulfillment service.

Fulfillment Fees:

Charged per unit

Covers picking, packing, shipping, customer service, and returns

Based on product size (standard vs. oversize) and weight

Storage Fees:

Monthly fee for storing inventory

Charged based on cubic feet

Higher rates during Q4 (Oct–Dec) due to peak season

Long-term storage fees may apply for items stored more than 365 days

4. Amazon Referral Fees

Amazon’s commission for selling on the platform

Charged as a percentage of the final sale price (including shipping)

Typically 15%, but varies by category (some are 8%, 12%, or 17%)

Automatically deducted from your payout

5. Prep Charge

These are costs for preparing products to meet Amazon’s packaging requirements:

Labeling (FNSKU labels)

Poly bagging

Bubble wrapping

Bundle prep

Suffocation warning application
Can be done by your supplier or Amazon (charged per unit).

6. Inbound Placement Fees

Amazon charges this when they split your inbound shipment and direct you to send inventory to multiple fulfillment centers.
Fees vary depending on:

Unit size and weight

Number of fulfillment centers used

Shipment placement option you choose (e.g., Amazon-optimized, partial, minimal)

7. Miscellaneous Fees

Other possible costs include:

Removal fees: To remove inventory from Amazon

Disposal fees: To dispose of unsellable or excess stock

Return processing fees: For certain categories

Unplanned service fees: If your shipment arrives without proper prep or labeling
