ISB Conducted Endline Evaluation of Market Development of Safe Meat and Dairy Product Sub-Project

Poribar Unnayon Sangstha (FDA) is implementing the sub-project titled " Market Development of Safe Meat and Dairy Product” at Bhola District (Charfassion, Lalmohon, Monpura) in Bangladesh. This sub-project is jointly funded by the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), IFAD and DANIDA under Rural Microenterprise Transformation Project (RMTP) of PKSF. The sub-project shall enable rural producers to expand sustainable micro-enterprises through efficient production methods and strong market connectivity, implemented for the overall business development of small entrepreneurs. The project is providing support to produce and distribute safe dairy and meat products following the Global GAP and HACCP protocols.

At the final stage of the sub-project, Institute of Social Business (ISB) conducted the endline evaluation of the project. The overall objective of the evaluation was to measure the changes with regard to significant advocacy document for further Project improvements, strategic planning and policy making in the area of Value chain project implementation.

Training of ISB’s Data Collectors for CYOPS Survey - 2025

Training of ISB’s data collectors’ team for Child and Youth Program Outcome and Satisfaction (CYOPS) survey- 2025 was conducted for 5 days at BCDM Savar (a concern of BRAC Services Ltd.), Dhaka. A total of 55 data collectors received the training for conducting 10,964 questionnaire surveys. The event was organized to equip data collectors with the practical skills and confidence required to effectively use all designated research tools, thereby ensuring the integrity, security, and efficiency of data collection in the field. ISB Organized Orientation Workshop for UNICEF Funded Research

Orientation workshop for survey team of the effectiveness study on Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programs for the primary education teachers in Bangladesh was conducted on 30 October, 2025 by Institute of Social Business at Training Room 3, IER, University of Dhaka. The event was organized to equip field supervisors and data enumerators with the practical skills and confidence required to effectively use all designated research tools, thereby ensuring the integrity, security, and efficiency of data collection in the field.

This research project is conducting with financial support of The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). Professor Dr. Md. Ahsan Habib; Professor Dr. Shah Shamim Ahmed and Professor Dr. Shahrier Haider, Institute of Education and Research (IER), University of Dhaka are Key Investigators of this study.

ISB Conducted Baseline Study for PIB’s Revised Country Strategy 2030

The updated Country Strategy 2024 seeks to align the initiatives of Plan International Bangladesh (PIB) with its global and regional objectives, while enhancing the humanitarian impact for girls in crisis situations. This strategy prioritizes the provision of swift, efficient, and effective humanitarian aid during emergencies, transitioning to a programmatic approach for improved efficiency, and incorporating climate resilience into all programs to tackle the challenges faced by young women and girls. The Country Strategy 2030 is crafted to support Plan International’s Global Strategy by concentrating on key program areas pertinent to Bangladesh. It reflects on previous accomplishments and presents a forward-looking vision through 2030, with an increased ambition to amplify efforts for girls and young women. This strategy reaffirms the organization’s identity and enhances operational effectiveness.

At starting of the project, Institute of Social Business (ISB) conducted the baseline study to establish a benchmark to measure the progress as per the indicators outlined in the results framework and effectiveness during and after the Revised Country Strategy 2030 implementation and at the same time the findings will help to develop necessary interventions to address the situation.

ISB Facilitated TOT on Gender-Responsive CHW Training Curriculum for Master Trainers

Institute of Social Business (ISB) conducted three days Training of Trainers (TOT) for 17 government core health workforce personnel of Thakurgaon district e.g. Civil Surgeon; Deputy Director- Sadar Hospital; Upazila Health and Family Planning Officers; Medical Officers; Sanitary Inspectors; Statisticians etc. The objective of the training was to build government core health workforce personnels’ capacity to act as master trainer who will provide training to Community Health Workers (CHWs) with making specific capacity development plan. World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) provided fund to organize this training.

ISB Developed Gender-Responsive CHW Training Curriculum

The initiative titled "Realizing Gender Equality, Attitudinal Change & Transformative Systems in Nutrition (REACTS IN)" is a prominent project funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and implemented by World Vision Bangladesh (WVB). Under the project, Institute of Social Business (ISB) developed gender-responsive Community Health Worker (CHW) training curriculum focusing on Adolescent-Friendly Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (AYSRHR), Nutrition, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), Mental Health, and Respectful Maternity Care with the support of Institute of Public Health Nutrition (IPHN).

ISB Conducted Endline Survey of GN Japan MOFA DRR Project, Kalapara Project

The GN Japan MOFA DRR Project was being implemented by Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB). Primarily the project involved the construction of a multipurpose model cyclone shelter in Mohipur and Dalbuganj, along with the renovation of four existing cyclone shelters in the two unions of Mohipur and Nilganj, located in the disaster-prone Kalapara Upazila. Additionally, the project aimed to enhance early warning systems, strengthen community resilience, upgrade the infrastructure of current cyclone shelters, and build local capacity through the formation of various committees. It also provided essential materials to support village disaster management committees, offers assistance to vulnerable families, develops community-based disaster risk management plans, and conducts public awareness campaigns. By fostering collaboration among government agencies, NGOs, and local stakeholders, the project promoted a unified and integrated approach to disaster risk reduction, ensuring sustainability and long-term benefits.

After the completion of the project, Institute of Social Business (ISB) conducted the endline survey of the project. The overall objective of the survey was to evaluate the extent to which the project has met its objectives, improved community resilience, and contributed to disaster preparedness and risk reduction. Good Neighbors Japan was provided fund to conduct the survey.

ISB Conducted Endline Assessment of Impact of Vision Correction and Nutrition Education on Individual Level Productivity of Garment Workers

Helen Keller International had started an initiative in partnership with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA). The objectives of the project are to integrate eye health services within health facilities established and managed by the BGMEA for their workers; to train clinicians at five BGMEA health facilities and provide the necessary equipment for conducting basic eye examinations, determining prescriptions, providing eyeglasses, and making referrals to address more complex eye disorders when needed; and to provide health education on basic nutrition. The project works in 2 domains of health sector i.e., eye health and nutrition. The project is implementing in 15 garments factories of Narayanganj, Gazipur, Dhaka, Manikganj, and Comilla district of Bangladesh. At the ending of the project, Institute of Social Business (ISB) conducted the endline assessment of the initiative.

ISB Developed Training Manual on Agricultural Products Processing and Preservation

Uttaran has started to implement the Rural Advisory Services for Women Empowerment (RASWE) Project. The project has been focusing on one of the most environmentally vulnerable regions of Bangladesh, the Chars of Sirajganj District. The target areas of Chanagacha, Khoksabari, Kalia Haripur, and Ratankandi Unions are under the Sirajganj Sadar Upazila of Sirajganj district. The overall objective of the project is “To improve the socio-economic situation of economically vulnerable and politically marginalized women in the rural district of Sirajganj in the Char region.”

ISB Developed Strategy on Rights-Based Approach

‘The Rights to Education and Social protection of deprived children at High risk in Bangladesh (RESH)’ project was implemented by Action for Social Development (ASD) with the financial support of Bread for the World, Germany. This project was considering to implement its intervention following Rights based approach to solve the problem of the targeted children. To establish their rights, this project wanted to take some initiatives to ensure the participation of the targeted people not only in receiving the services but also involving in decision-making process. Therefore, Institute of Social Business (ISB) developed Strategy on Rights-Based Approach for ASD. Bread for the World, Germany provided fund to develop this strategy.

ISB Conducted Final Evaluation of “Wellbeing of Children, Adolescents, and Youths Through Accelerating Community-based Prevention, Protection, and Response Mechanisms in Cox’s Bazar Humanitarian Context (WATCH)” Project

The project “Wellbeing of Children, Adolescents, and Youths Through Accelerating Community-based Prevention, Protection, and Response Mechanisms in Cox’s Bazar Humanitarian Context (WATCH)” is being implemented by Education and Development Foundation- Educo in the Rohingya Refugee camp Camps 4, 8E, 17 & 18 in Cox’s Bazar and two union of Host Communities through partner. It aim to build and strengthen knowledge and capacity of community groups, leaders, children and youth, government officials, and humanitarian actors on their crucial roles in addressing child protection, GBV, and disaster risks in targeted in 4 camps and host communities integrate 25 community-based child protection committees (CBCPCs), 30 adolescent and youth (A&Y) clubs and 10 women support groups (WSG) into the protection framework of camps and host communities in Cox’s Bazar, as it builds on existing community- led protection systems, established through previous collaboration and empowered children, young people, parents/caregivers and duty bearers, creating a network of committed actors dedicated to the well-being and protection of children, adolescents, and youths. The project directly supports to 16,540 people, as 7,646 children (aged 11-15) and 8,894 adolescents, youth & adults (15 & above) it also reached indirectly 62,852 beneficiaries through community mobilization meetings, capacity building sessions and support services and referral processes.

At the ending of the project, Institute of Social Business (ISB) conducted the final evaluation of the project. The overall objective of the project is to assess project success and lessons learned and draw recommendations for Educo as well as Child Fund for further improvement and better programming; and to assess the progress in terms of the project objectives and results, Indicators and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the intervention.
