The Astor Hotel invites food enthusiasts to embark on a culinary voyage along the state’s shoreline with its latest festival, 'Coast of Bengal – Coastline Culinaries.’ Hosted at the hotel’s signature restaurant Kebab-e-Que, the festival will run till 30th November 2025.
The thoughtfully designed menu is divided into three sections — *‘Shurute’ (Small Plates), **‘Maha Bhoj’ (Large Plates), and **‘Mishti Mukh’ (Desserts)* — showcasing an array of creative and comforting dishes. Highlights include *Who Tweaked My Fish and Chips, featuring mourala fish with sweet potato chips, and the indulgent **Crab Cutlet* paired with coriander mayonnaise and burnt tomato bhorta. For the mains, diners can relish *Dhone Pata Bata Bhetki* served with shorse bata curry and coconut ‘Tulaipanji’ rice, *Jeera–Raw Turmeric Grilled Singi Maach, **Ilish Fry* with barley khichuri and smoked tomato bhorta, and *Lau Chingri – The Astor Way, reimagined with pumpkin risotto and Bengal’s squash tempura. To end on a sweet note, the **Brandy Pati Shapta* and *Nolen Gurer Ice Cream* promise to delight dessert lovers.
Each dish reflects the essence of Bengal’s coast — fresh, bold, and rooted in nostalgia, yet presented with contemporary flair.
