The “Alada Ghor” initiative is a set of scenarios and suggestions to assist especially marginalized communities in learning and practicing how to manage, build and maintain space-related systems and behaviors to practice safe distancing, isolation, and quarantine in order to stop the transmission of COVID-19 and stay healthy as a community.

“Alada Ghor”, which means “separate house” or “separate room” in Bangla, is a collaborative action that has been initiated by low-income communities, architects, public health specialists, students, and different professionals of Bangladesh working together.

The journey of Alada Ghor, a 'Rapid Response Community Design', started with a question - how can people in disadvantaged neighborhoods with low resources and living in densely populated areas maintain safe distance and isolation during COVID-19?

Co.Creation.Architects (CCA) is looking for a Product and Communication Manager (PCM) for an exciting initiative called “Weaving Lives” that aims to create craft-based entrepreneurship with urban poor communities. CCA is looking for someone who is a dynamic and energetic team player with a strong passion for crafts, and a good understanding of and genuine interest in co-creating with people.

Based in Jhenaidah, the Product and Communication Manager will be a key team member of the project with strong leadership skills. Her/his major responsibilities will be managing the project activities, maintaining liaison with the stakeholders, and monitoring and evaluation through reporting. S/he will be responsible for coordinating between the communities and the business support organizations. S/he will be expected to work extensively in the field and will require some travel between Dhaka and Jhenaidah. Applicants can be from architecture, art, design, business, management or other relevant disciplines and should have a graduate or post-graduate degree. Women are encouraged to apply.

Interested applicants are requested to send an email to [email protected] with a CV and a letter of intent. Relevant work samples, if applicable, can also be emailed. Any questions can be directed to [email protected]
