The position of Bangladesh as the industry leader having the highest number of green garment factories in the world is getting stronger day by day. More and more green garment factories are being added to the industry in Bangladesh. AKH Knitting and Dyeing Limited, a LEED certified green factory, is one of them.

Benzir Ahmed, MP inaugurated the new unit of AKH Group as chief guest.

BGMEA President Faruque Hassan graced the inaugural ceremony as special guest and congratulated AKH Group on the opening of new green garment unit. He also wished the Group more success in the coming days.

Former BGMEA President Md. Shafiul Islam, MP, AKH Group Chairman Delwar Hossain, Managing Director Md. Shamsul Alam and Deputy Managing Director Md. Abul Kashem also addressed the opening ceremony held on the factory premises at Dhamrai in Dhaka on 26 December

The newly opened AKH Knitting and Dyeing Limited is equipped with energy-efficient technologies and machinery along with environment-friendly initiatives for clean and green energy, including solar panel, rainwater harvesting etc.

Currently, Bangladesh is the global leader in terms of the number of green garment factories. Green factories are one of the most scientific ways of keeping the balance of growth and sustainability. Green factories attach the highest importance to energy use, water use and indoor environment quality.
