BBCCI Signs MoU with São Paulo Chamber of Commerce to Strengthen Bangladesh-Brazil Bilateral Trade and Investment Relations
The Brazil Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BBCCI) and the São Paulo Chamber of Commerce officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) virtually today, 22 May 2026, at 8:00 PM Bangladesh time, aiming to strengthen bilateral trade, investment, business cooperation, and institutional collaboration between Bangladesh and Brazil.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the Brazil Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BBCCI) by Mr. Md. Saiful Alam, Vice President of BBCCI, while Mr. Ricardo Cury, Coordinator of the Council of Consulates and Chambers of Commerce, signed on behalf of the São Paulo Chamber of Commerce.
The agreement marks a significant milestone in the growing economic and commercial relations between Bangladesh and Brazil. Through this strategic partnership, both chambers will work jointly to promote trade and investment opportunities, facilitate business delegations, organize seminars, conferences, B2B matchmaking sessions, trade fairs, and investment promotion programs, and encourage stronger cooperation between the private sectors of both countries.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives from both chambers expressed optimism that the MoU would create new avenues for exporters, importers, investors, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs from Bangladesh and Brazil to explore mutually beneficial business opportunities and expand bilateral commercial relations.
The partnership is also expected to support the upcoming “Made in Bangladesh Expo 2026” in São Paulo, Brazil, which aims to showcase Bangladeshi products and industries before Brazilian businesses, importers, distributors, and consumers.
Bangladesh and Brazil possess highly complementary economies. Bangladesh is globally recognized for its strengths in apparel, pharmaceuticals, jute products, ceramics, leather goods, agro-processing, and light engineering sectors, while Brazil is a major global supplier of agricultural commodities, cotton, sugar, soybean products, food products, and industrial raw materials. Both chambers believe that stronger institutional collaboration can significantly contribute to expanding bilateral trade volume and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The Brazil Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BBCCI) remains committed to facilitating trade, investment, business networking, and economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Brazil through strategic partnerships and proactive business diplomacy.
