The Bible tells the story of the people of Babel, who speak a single language. They decide to build a tower that will reach to heaven, in the hope of
protecting themselves against a new deluge, But God punishes them for their pride. He has all the people speak a different language and he scatters
them across the entire earth.

2. Judith ca. 1554
The sensual Judith has just decapitated the hostile general Holofernes. She used her charms to free her people. In the 16th century, Judith was seen as an example of a strong woman. But she was also a warning to men: beware of beautiful women!
Restoration brought Judith's skin colour back to life.
