Nucleareurope's DG Office, Legal & International Relations Director, Berta Picamal Vicente participated today in the opening session of the summer course titled "New Nuclear Technologies" (Nuevas tecnologías en el sector nuclear) organized by the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) in Santander.

Berta Picamal, along with Richard James from the Welsh Government and Elvira Romera Gutiérrez, Commissioner in the Spanish Nuclear Safety Council (CSN), took part in a round table discussion on the topic of "Vision of a Nuclear Future".

The course was sponsored by Equipos Nucleares S.A., S.M.E., (ENSA)

None of the world's 30 major banks have explicitly included nuclear energy in their criteria for issuing green or sustainability-linked bonds, researchers said on Thursday (6 July), despite an EU decision last year to label it as sustainable.

Yesterday nucleareurope's DG Yves Desbazeille intervened at the European Energy Forum. He stressed the need for decarbonisation across different applications and to deploy solutions, among which nuclear. As such, nuclear should be fully included in the NZIA.
