I was lucky enough to attend at , the latest performance by Olivier Saillard, a fashion historian and performance artist. “Moda Povera V : les vêtements de Renée” pays tribute to his mother by transforming her wardrobe into a haute couture collection, blending fashion and memory in a moving performance. He manages to create a performance full of poetry, tenderness and beauty. It struck an especially touching cord with me as I too have been going through my mother’s extensive wardrobe ever since she passed, a difficult yet also heartwarming task. Also the model was absolutely perfect! Elegant, exuding strength and grace with such effortlessness.
As so perfectly described in the program: “…he reconciles the idea of a poetic form of fashion, without backing it to the luxury system, while offering a very intimate and extremely touching performance..” Thank you ❤️

It’s hard to imagine it’s been ten years since my mother’s passing. She is the reason fashion has been a part of my life since I can remember. She didn’t work in fashion until later in life, but she was a life long fashionista, in the best sense of the word. This is a photo of us, me 19 years old, at a fashion event in Manila. She had an appreciation for craftsmanship, know-how, beauty, elegance and glamour. I knew the work of most of the fashion maestros and any juicy dramas in their life, by the time I reached my teens. She is missed dearly by all who knew her, her fabulous style and even better storytelling. ❤️

This year, the salon’s ambassador was the phenomenal .fitoussi who presented a selection of her “picks” from this season’s brands. It was wonderful catching up with long time collaborators and friends and meeting the talent behind the brands . And of course, seeing all the amazing designs, business concepts and products that the independent fashion sector has to offer! Please support independent fashion ❤️

The phenomenally curated was a lovely side trip to with their tent attached to .paris . There was an array of glassworks, from recycled glass red wine glasses, to the beautiful vases of a top the ceramic pedestals of and the surreal whimsical work of . There was also the perfume area, filled with independent perfume houses, such as and the scents from artist - special hello to his charming representative Jasmine with whom I had a fabulous, fun and informative conversation! The furniture and home decor was beautifully selected and made me want to have an array of homes to decorate, ha! One can dream, and that’s what this show manages to do brilliantly.

We gathered in Paris to meet the participants of the first NEB Fashion SME Adaptor, , learn about their brands and hear from a fascinating group of speakers throughout the day! Liz Ricketts of and Claire Teurlings of Actieplan Circulair Textiel spoke global responsibility and regional circular systems. We also were introduced to Biofrabique Vienna and their work in bio-materials innovation. EU policy on sustainability in fashion was discussed. The brands did four minute intros to their business, and we learned more on the incredible projects in textile of and the wool development by LORE. An incredibly inspirational and motivating day! Back for another new year’s post, but this time it feels more like the real New Year to me. Is it because I grew up in Asia and celebrated this new year as much as the western one? Probably. But it’s also because it’s a special one! It’s my year, being a Horse myself! Alrightee! Let’s do this, 2026! I spent the last month of the year working on really interesting projects, spending time with family and friends, so I can truly say that I am very grateful for the good this year brought. So for 2026, I am going to work on focusing more on the good, while doing what I can about the bad. Last week I had the opportunity to go check out .paris at the beautiful Tuileries gardens, next to the Louvre museum. What I found was a wonderfully curated selection from around the world of some of the best of what independent fashion has to offer today. These are brands led by passionate designers, working to bring creativity, purpose and meaning to fashion, something that is in dire need these days! I wish I could include a photo of every stand, that’s how good this edition was. Really. And a special shout out to and her amazing team for putting on a fabulous edition this season! The selection was thoughtful, the art direction and decor reflected the great eye and style of the show’s organizers and exhibitors. Bravo à tous!! @13.09.sr .jewellery

Giorgio Armani has passed that grand old age of 91, having been active until the end. “Il Re della Moda Italiana” as he was often referred to, brought new life and energy to Italian fashion when in the 80s he redefined suits and comfort for both woman and men. Sleek, chic and always wearable. He was a visionary not just creatively but in business. One the first to truly develop the power of bringing Hollywood and Fashion together. For five decades he remained at the top and kept his business independent. RIP Re ♥️

Leigh Bowery, the amazing, captivating, creative , provocative, hilarious and so much more, icon of a time when fashion, music and art lived as one. Look closely and you’ll see where the inspirations and influences of most of today’s fashion and music darlings come from. Many come directly from Leigh’s creations and explorations, and the rest come from the world he inhabited and helped create. The 80-90s was a time of an outward exploration of the expression of our desires, the redefinition of beauty and fashion, of gender, of sexuality, of society as a whole. Without the larger than life spirits such as Leigh Bowery, moving is forward, pushing us to get comfortable and even better, pushing us to wonder why we weren’t uncomfortable, why we were fascinated, attracted, when society was telling us that what he explored was wrong and should be avoided. He shook things up, questioned society from every angle and all with a great sense of humor! May we nurture and preserve all those who explore our society, put a spotlight on our discomforts and make us question the status quo. We need them more than ever. ♥️
