📢 On November 9th, Cluster BIG - Blue Italian Growth, a partner in the , organized a workshop titled: "European-funded projects and partnerships as engines for a more circular blue (bio)economy across the Mediterranean."

During the event, several speakers discussed European partnerships dedicated to the and , as well as key ongoing projects in the . Indeed, there is a growing focus at European, national, and regional levels on emerging and innovative sectors of the blue economy, which can offer significant potential for economic growth, transition to sustainability, and job creation 🌊

The result is a significant increase in , with various maritime clusters and organizations working on EU-funded projects. The main goal is to strengthen innovation in the "blue sector" by supporting SMEs, the backbone of the European economy, through .

In this respect, with its 46 funded SMEs, is at the forefront of funding European blue economy-related companies 📈

Com o apoio da Magellan Circle e cofinanciamento do (Fundo Europeu de Desenvolvimento Regional) através do Norte2020/PT2020, a Associação Portuguesa de Fundição irá realizar dois workshops nos dias 8 e 15 de setembro, pelas 16h30, na Universidade Católica Portuguesa, no Porto.

Este ciclo de workshops decorre no âmbito do projeto “Capacitação do Setor da Fundição: A transição para uma economia circular e digital” e conta com a colaboração da ccenergia e do CTCV - Centro de Tecnologia e Inovação.

Os workshops constituem uma oportunidade única de discussão e análise sobre dois dos temas mais contundentes da atualidade inerentes à transição e desenvolvimento sustentável do setor da fundição português — a eficiência energética e as simbioses industriais — ao mesmo tempo que fomenta a interação e networking entre o público e as instituições intervenientes.

O evento teve como objetivo apresentar e promover esta oportunidade de financiamento orientada para a indústria extrativa e transformadora em Portugal. Este incentivo pretende apoiar investimentos relacionados com processos e tecnologias de baixo carbono, a adoção de medidas de eficiência energética e a incorporação de energia de fonte renovável e armazenamento de energia. ⚡ 🌱

📅 On this day in 1975, the European Commission adopted new rules on the principle of equal pay for men and women.

Women who discover they are being paid less than men have legal rights to take action against pay discrimination and they are also protected against dismissal by the employer as a reaction to launching such proceedings.

Equal pay for equal work is one of the EU’s founding principles enshrined in Article 157 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. 🇪🇺 countries must eliminate discrimination on grounds of s*x with regard to all aspects and conditions of remuneration for the same work or for work of equal value.

The EC continues to fight the gender pay gap with several actions to improve pay equality and raise awareness to this issue. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑
