AmWell

AmWell We help teams to manage stress efficiently and perform sustainably. AmWell develops solutions to measure and manage stress at work.

Stress is the number one workforce problem yet there is no user-friendly and objective way to measure stress. For this reason we founded AmWell where we are developing mobile solutions to measure stress continuously and objectively on the body. Once stress levels are quantified, we help people to manage stress through mindfulness techniques and through understanding and improving working styles as

well as life styles (exercise and nutrition). Currently stress is the leading cause for over 60% of diseases worldwide. We are determined to significantly reduce this percentage and to allow people and organisations to live up to their potential. Life is about finding the right balance, it is about making sustainable choices.

A story about a health problem related to modern extreme life and sport habits:

"A 32-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of oedema and 8 kg of gained weight. The patient practiced excessive physical activity at work and in his spare time, and kept a very thorough training and weight diary. Owing to a high intake of energy and protein drinks he tried to optimise his physical performance and kept a normal body mass index at 23.7. A bone marrow biopsy showed gelatinous bone marrow transformation, normally seen in critically ill patients or those with severe malnutrition. In this case, the cause is presumed to be excessive physical activity/overtraining in combination with relatively insufficient nutrition."
