The 24th European Week of Regions and Cities is underway in Brussels under the motto "Strong Regions, Strong Europe", bringing together thousands of local and regional authorities, policymakers, and experts.
Convened by the European Commission and hosted by Executive Vice-President for Cohesion and Reforms Raffaele Fitto in partnership with the European Committee of the Regions, the three-day flagship event features high-level opening addresses from prominent figures such as European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, European Council President António Costa, and European Committee of the Regions President Kata Tüttő.
As part of this key European event, the President of the European Urban Local Action Group Network (EUrbanLAG Net), Mr. Valentin Dimon, is actively participating in high-level discussions and networking sessions.
His presence in Brussels comes at a critical juncture. Advocating for Urban CLLD (EUrbanLAG Net’s) is especially vital right now, as the European Union is in the final stages of negotiating its upcoming 2028-2034 budget and investment framework. Ensuring that local, grassroots voices are strongly represented in these financial decisions is essential for the sustainable future of European towns and cities.
By engaging directly with European institutional partners and regional stakeholders, EUrbanLAG Net continues to secure a clear path for community-led strategies, ensuring our communities remain connected, resilient, and well-supported in the years ahead.
