Jeffrey Baumgartner is the author of the innovation books, ‘The Way of the Innovation Master’ and ‘Anticonventional Thinking – the Creative Alternative to Brainstorming’ as well as the science fiction-humour novel, ‘The Insane Journey’ and the literary hack, ‘The Adventures of Felicity Holmes’. He also writes, Report 103, the web’s longest running blog or newsletter on innovation (since 2004).
Jeffrey has an intense interest in the creative process. Frustrated by the ubiquitousness in the business world of brainstorming, a processes proven to be ineffective at producing creative ideas, he developed anticonventional thinking (ACT), a method based on research and modeled after the approach artists take to creative projects.
Having led an eclectic, international life rich in experiences Jeffrey is not a typical corporate innovation consultant. Jeffrey’s past lives include being a teacher of English, a copywriter, a magazine columnist and an entrepreneur in the USA, UK, Portugal, Germany, Thailand and Belgium. He launched one of Thailand’s first web and multimedia development companies in 1994. In the early 2000s he advised the European Commission on promoting e-commerce to EU companies.
