Trauma doesn't wait for daylight. Most of what you'll actually use in the field — tourniquets, pressure dressings, airway checks — has to work just as fast by headlamp or muzzle flash as it does at noon.

Train the way you'll actually operate. Low light changes everything: you can't rely on sight the way you think you can, so muscle memory has to carry you.

The first 3 seconds at a checkpoint decide how the next 3 minutes go. Slow down early. Sunglasses off. Hands visible. If it's dark, interior light on. Soldiers and armed actors are trained to read behavior before they read documents — panic looks like guilt, even when you have nothing to hide.
