• Someone said to me at the school gate the other day:
“Oh, you make socks too?” 😅

Apparently we don’t show our socks enough. 😂

• Last time, we zoomed in.
This time, we stepped back.

Because something interesting happens when you look at a page from a distance. You stop reading the words and start noticing something else.

The lines. The blocks of text. The spaces in between. The rhythm of a page.

The patterns in these scarves started with pages from A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf.

The photo of the book in this carousel is actually almost two years old. I had just moved, and the house was still pretty empty. But that book was already there.

I obviously had no idea that almost two years later, those pages would somehow end up in a Wolvis collection.

Or that around the same time, I’d realise how much I needed a room of my own to work in too.

That part wasn’t planned. :)

• Everything in this carousel was made in Belgium. :)

Knitted close to our studio, using 100% RWS-certified extra fine merino wool. I realise we don’t actually say that enough.

We spend so much time talking about colours, patterns and shapes, that sometimes we forget to mention what our knitwear is actually made of. And where it is made.

So, there you go. 💙

• I like to read.
But when I’m reading, I’m not really looking at letters.
I see words. Sentences. A story. Meaning.
We see letters every single day, but rarely really look at their shape.
Take them out of context, and they suddenly become something abstract.
But somehow, still familiar.
You might not know what you’re looking at. But somewhere, you recognise it.
