Did you know you can add a SeaKite to your motor yacht? 🪁

And did you know the Deo M26 was the first motor yacht equipped with Beyond the Sea’s SeaKite propulsion system?

A little behind-the-scenes look at our SeaKite launch in Victoria, British Columbia, with the Deo Juvante team!

Developed by Beyond the Sea, the SeaKite is an innovative wind-assisted propulsion system created by legendary French offshore sailor Yves Parlier, a three-time Vendée Globe competitor and longtime friend of Deo Juvante founder Thierry Verstraete.

Yves is known for his remarkable achievements in offshore sailing, including famously repairing his own broken mast during the 2000–2001 Vendée Globe and continuing to finish the solo round-the-world race.

When Yves introduced the SeaKite technology to Thierry, he immediately saw its potential for long-distance exploration. Thierry became Beyond the Sea’s first SeaKite customer, bringing the technology aboard the Deo M26.

A few impressive facts about the Deo M26’s SeaKite:

🪁 A 25 m² automated kite, with a larger 50 m² version also onboard.
🌬️ Flies approximately 70 metres above the yacht, harnessing wind to generate forward traction.
⚓ Has achieved 4.5 knots under kite power alone, without engine propulsion.
🌎 Can reduce fuel consumption by up to 30% in ideal conditions.

The technology uses an automated kite that can fly in a figure eight pattern, increasing aerodynamic lift and pulling the yacht forward using the power of the wind.

Installed in New Zealand, the system was tested during the Deo M26’s global travels, including Japan and Alaska, before the yacht made its way to Victoria, BC.

A milestone in yacht innovation and a glimpse into the future of long-distance exploration. ⚓️

Your life beyond the horizon.✨

Where can the TS40 take you? 🗺️

This is Passage Notes, a new series from Deo Journal. Each post follows one real passage, port by port, with what you would see, where you would resupply, and how long it takes aboard the TS40.🛥️

First passage: Reykjavik to the Ilulissat Icefjord in Greenland. Roughly 1,500 nautical miles, about three days.

Swipe for the route:

Reykjavik. Depart from the Old Harbour, with fuel, provisions and technicians in the city.

The Irminger Sea. About 700 NM of open ocean to Greenland’s southern tip. Drift ice carried south on the East Greenland Current can block the coast into late summer, so the approach is planned on current ice charts.

Prince Christian Sound. A protected channel about 60 miles long, with steep mountain walls and glaciers calving into the water. In places it narrows to roughly 500 metres.

Qaqortoq. Coloured houses on a rocky hillside, a working harbour and a place to resupply. Nearby, the Norse ruins at Hvalsey stand within the Kujataa UNESCO World Heritage site.

Sisimiut. Greenland’s second-largest town, just north of the Arctic Circle, and the last major resupply point before Disko Bay.

The Ilulissat Icefjord. A UNESCO World Heritage site where the Sermeq Kujalleq glacier flows roughly 20 to 40 metres a day, sending icebergs out into Disko Bay.

The TS40 is a 40-metre trimaran with 3,000+ NM autonomy and silent propulsion, with the engines in the side hulls: zero noise, zero vibration.

Good to know: Greenland is outside the EU, so the first stop must be a port of entry, and GREENPOS ship reporting applies. Ice conditions set the timing. Distances are approximate, and this route is not for navigation.

Next in Passage Notes: more routes, and the harbours and anchorages only real explorers know.

Some places are worth travelling to the edge of the world for and sometimes, what you find there makes the journey even more memorable. 🌊

Our travels with the Deo team took us to the Faroe Islands, where we visited PAZ, a two-Michelin-star restaurant in the heart of Tórshavn, led by Faroese chef Poul Andrias Ziska.

Chef Poul welcomed us into his kitchen and walked us through what we’d be eating that evening. What we noticed was the care behind every ingredient. Each one had a story and a connection to the islands, whether it came from the land or the surrounding sea.

Every course brought something new, but what surprised us most was how quiet the kitchen was. You’d expect a certain level of pressure in a restaurant like this, but there was a real sense of calm.

Everyone knew their role, and you could see how much they cared about what they were creating.

Paz is worth the journey. Not just for the food, but for the chance to meet people like Poul, who put so much of themselves and their home into what they do.

The sea has shaped life in the Faroe Islands for generations, from its traditions to the food on the table.

The sea connects them. And the sea connects us.⚓️

You’ve imagined what life could look like beyond the coastline.🌊

Crossing oceans on your own terms.

Spending months exploring remote destinations.

Waking up somewhere new without ever leaving the comforts of home.

But finding a yacht designed for more than the occasional getaway?

That’s where the challenge begins.

At Deo Juvante, we’re rethinking what it means to live aboard.

Designing explorer yachts for those who want to go further, stay longer, and make the world their home.

Because the dream isn’t just to own a yacht.

It’s to live the life you’ve been imagining.

We believe in the power of storytelling, and we have immense respect for the journalists who travel from around the world to discover, document, and share the people, innovations, and stories that move the yachting industry forward.

To everyone who joined us for our presentation, listened to our story, and took an interest in our vision, thank you. Your curiosity, conversations, and continued support mean so much to us.

We look forward to sharing more of our journey with you.✨

Built to cross oceans.

Designed to feel like home.

The Deo Juvante M26 isn’t an explorer yacht built for the occasional adventure. She was created for a life lived on the water and she’s already proven it.

For six years, a family called her home full-time, living, exploring and crossing oceans together. Because a true explorer isn’t only about how far you can go. It’s about how well you can live when you get there.

Long passages. Remote anchorages. Family dinners. Friends gathered around the table. Working from the water. Waking up somewhere new.

At 26 metres, the M26 combines serious passage-making capability with the comfort and independence needed for extended life at sea including a range of more than 5,000 nautical miles, integrated solar power and four cabins. And then there’s the technology that sets her apart: a hybrid propulsion concept with a kite propulsion system, a world-first for Deo Juvante designed to harness the wind and rethink what long-range exploration can look like.

Because exploration isn’t about escaping the world , it’s about discovering more of it and creating connection wherever you are.

Thierry sits down with our Technical Operations Manager, Guillaume, who joined us from Antalya, Turkey, to talk about the vision behind Deo Juvante and the technical thinking required to bring that vision to life.

For nearly two years, Thierry and Guillaume have been working side by side, from international boat shows to the ongoing development of the Deo Juvante fleet. In this conversation, they share more about their roles, their collaboration, and how every technical decision connects back to one goal: creating yachts designed for living, exploring, and going further.

More to come soon, with the full video coming to YouTube.🎥
