The strong demand for well-bred showjumping mares was clearly demonstrated last Saturday evening, 17 January, during the Belgian Mare Auction. At this second edition of the auction, 21 of the 22 mares changed hands, both on site and online ๐ด
The auction, founded by Nico De Wilde and his son Marco De Wilde of the Belgian Stud De Wilde, took place at Loheky Stables in Knesselare. โThere was a great atmosphere. Most mares were sold on site, but there were also online sales to America, Brazil, England, Sweden, Slovenia, the Netherlands and Belgium,โ says Marco De Wilde ๐
The highlight of the auction was the twelve-year-old Ola Kala de Regor (Darco), a direct daughter of Centa de Muze and herself ranked at 1.45m level. She brought the top price of โฌ87,000โ๏ธ
The ten-year-old Plots Princess (Plot Blue), bred out of Marcus Ehningโs famous Grand Prix mare Noltes Kuchengirl, was sold online to Slovenia for โฌ48,000.
