According ’s Tom Loftus, cloud firms see customers tighten spending with enterprises focusing on cost savings and efficiency.

“On Wednesday, Salesforce.com Inc. acknowledged the more conservative business environment as it said it would reduce its full-year outlook. “Every single company right now is focused on bottom-line performance and cost savings,” said Bret Taylor, co-chief executive of the cloud business software giant.
That's in line with what a number of IT leaders have been telling CIO Journal. They say they are adapting in part by evaluating their relationships with technology partners and suppliers. “When economic change happens, it’s normal and natural that organizations pull back, scrub their spend and tighten up,” said Zendesk Inc. CIO Colleen Berube earlier this summer.
“It’s all about reprioritization,” said ServiceNow Inc. Chief Executive Bill McDermott, in a call with analysts. “Customers are making significant investments with fewer platforms.” Last month, the cloud software company lowered its annual subscription-revenue outlook.”
It will be vital for all future IT architectures to create lean, mean and efficient working environments that offer cost monitoring and allow scaling according to growth and economic reality.
