Een prachtig moment tijdens de uitreiking van de Belgian Wine Awards van Gault&Millau in Brussel!
Onze Riesling Purnot Vintage Reserve I werd bekroond met een Belgian Wine Award in de categorie Witte Wijnen.

Voor deze exclusieve cuvée werden in uitzonderlijke wijnjaren beperkte volumes reservewijnen geselecteerd en voor het eerst samengebracht in een blend van drie jaargangen: 2018, 2022 en 2024.
De warme jaren 2018 en 2022 zorgen voor rijpheid, diepgang en subtiele petroltoetsen. Het frissere jaar 2024 brengt levendige zuren en verfijnde citrusaroma’s. Samen vormen ze een gerijpte Riesling met complexiteit, frisheid en karakter.

Daarnaast werden ook onze Riesling Brut en Pinot Blanc 2024 bekroond met een Coup de Cœur.

Dank aan het team van de Gault&Millau Wine Guide om de Belgische wijnsector jaar na jaar zo mooi in de kijker te zetten.

A wonderful moment during the presentation of the Gault&Millau Belgian Wine Awards in Brussels!

Our Riesling Purnot Vintage Reserve I was honoured with a Belgian Wine Award in the White Wines category.
For this exclusive cuvée, limited volumes of reserve wines from exceptional vintages were carefully selected and, for the first time, brought together in a blend of three harvest years: 2018, 2022, and 2024.

The warm vintages of 2018 and 2022 contribute ripeness, depth, and subtle petrol notes, while the cooler 2024 vintage brings vibrant acidity and refined citrus aromas. Together, they create a mature Riesling with complexity, freshness, and character.

In addition, our Riesling Brut and Pinot Blanc 2024 were both awarded a Coup de Cœur distinction.
Our sincere thanks to the team behind the Gault&Millau Wine Guide for continuing to shine a spotlight on the Belgian wine sector year after year.

Op 21 mei waren wij te gast als spreker op het Wijncongres der Lage Landen 2026.

Tijdens zijn presentatie nam Hein Henckens het publiek mee in de kracht van herkomst als marketinginstrument.
Veranderend consumentengedrag dwingt wijnbouwers en wijnregio’s tot duidelijke keuzes. Herkenbaarheid, vertrouwen en identiteit worden steeds bepalender voor succes in de markt.

Binnen een context van Beschermde Oorsprongsbenaming (BOB) draait het niet om alle wijnstijlen te kunnen of te willen maken, maar om te durven kiezen. Door te focussen op een beperkte selectie druivenrassen, een duidelijke identiteit op te bouwen en hierop consequent verder te bouwen, ontstaat een onderscheidende en herkenbare wijnstijl.

Een inspirerende dag vol kennisuitwisseling over de toekomst van wijnbouw in de Lage Landen.

On 21 May, we were invited to speak at the 2026 Low Countries Wine Congress.

During his presentation, Hein Henckens explored the power of provenance as a marketing tool.

Changing consumer behaviour is forcing winegrowers and wine regions to make clear choices. Recognisability, trust and identity are becoming increasingly crucial to success in the market.

Within the context of Protected Designation of Origin (BOB), it is not about being able or willing to produce every style of wine, but about daring to choose. By focusing on a limited selection of grape varieties, building a clear identity and consistently developing this further, a distinctive and recognisable wine style emerges.

An inspiring day full of knowledge-sharing on the future of viticulture in the Low Countries.

24 & 25 mei: Kunstfietsdagen 2026

Tijdens het Pinksterweekend, op 24 en 25 mei 2026, vinden de jaarlijkse kunstfietsdagen plaats in het Maasland. Tijdens deze happening worden kunst en ontspanning op een verrassende manier gecombineerd over een fietsroute van ongeveer 30 km door Belgisch en Nederlands Limburg.

De route loopt langs 14 locaties — van historische gebouwen en sfeervolle tuinen tot verrassende plekjes — waar ook lokale en regionale kunstenaars hun werk tentoonstellen. Denk aan schilderijen, keramiek, ijzerkunst en meer. Onderweg vinden bezoekers een bankje of terrasje om te genieten.

Op Wijndomein Aldeneyck kun je de kunstwerken bewonderen van Marion Backus en Bruno Plaghki, persoonlijk aanwezig van 10 tot 17 uur.

De fietstocht start waar je wil: op elke locatie is een gratis routefolder beschikbaar en de hele route is duidelijk aangegeven met genummerde rode pijlen. Oversteken kan met de gratis veerpont of via de brug in Maaseik.

Alle locaties zijn open van 10.00 tot 17.00 uur, en de toegang is gratis.

May 24 & 25: Art Cycling Days 2026

During the Pentecost weekend on May 24 and 25, 2026, the annual Art Cycling Days will take place in the Maasland region. This unique event combines art and relaxation along a scenic 30 km cycling route through Belgian and Dutch Limburg.

The route passes 14 locations — ranging from historic buildings and charming gardens to hidden gems — where local and regional artists exhibit their work. Visitors can discover paintings, ceramics, metal art, and more, while enjoying a drink or rest stop along the way.

At Wijndomein Aldeneyck, you can admire the artworks of Marion Backus and Bruno Plaghki, who will be personally present from 10 AM to 5 PM.

You can start the cycling route wherever you like: a free route brochure is available at every location, and the entire route is clearly marked with numbered red arrows. Crossings are possible via the free ferry service or the bridge in Maaseik.

All locations are open from 10 AM to 5 PM, and admission is free.
