Inner layer >< outer layer (and core essence) => here is what you need to know:

First of all, I need to tell you that the first time I came across this concept, it completely blew my mind! 🤯

It was so simple, yet incredibly impactful once you completely understand it and when you put it into practice.

OUTER LAYER

= your behaviour based on what society expects from you. All the ‘musts’ you feel you need to comply to. Because should you not fulfill them, you would be labelled as ‘not good enough’. (Often internalised voices too) it makes us feel depleted, dependent on external sources of love and acceptance, and an overall victim of the situations playing out around us.

Recognisable by expressions such as “i have to” “i have no choice”…

INNER LAYER

= when your behaviour is consciously chosen, so it is aligned to your authentic self chosen values and needs. When you move from this space, you feel empowered, aligned, inspired and in flow. You feel ‘true to yourself’ and others call you ‘authentic’ too.

Recognized by expressions as “I chose this because...” “I always have a choice.” “I feel.. because I need..” (empowered/accountable)

INNER ESSENCE
=> is out truest and most loving core essence. I truly believe with all my being that the core essence of every being on this planet is pure LOVE. When we tap into this energy we feel an incredible sense of interconnectedness with everything and everyone. We take natural responsibility for the impact we have on this whole by the actions, words and thoughts we produce. It is a space of pure peacefulness.

In our society we have been taught to live mainly on our OUTER layer. Pls do not take my word on it: simply observe for yourself. Loneliness, depressions, anxiety,.. are at an all time high.

The good news is: there is a way back ‘home’. We simply need to reconnect to our core essence.

The conscious choice of taking radical responsibility (response-ability) over your Life and Well-being is not an easy one.

Yet I truly believe it to be one of the most liberating ones we can make.

Letting go of the ‘comfort’ of what we know (old habits, patterns, places and people, jobs, ways of thinking,…) and going into the temporary ‘discomfort’ of trying something else. Something new, because you feel that the old mould is no longer ‘fitting’ you. It no longer serves your highest good/well-being.

This takes courage!

So if you are on a journey of releasing old patterns, and in the uncomfortable process of learning something new. Trying on new ways. Messing up and trying over and over and over again, until it slowly becomes your new identity, new habit and new ‘normal’… I salute you.

You’re taking back your Authentic Power of CHOICE!

You know what outcome you are doing this for, you are leaving behind the ‘slave’ mentality of ‘not having a choice’. You opened your mind to new possibilities.

And I am curious…

What keeps you going?

(For me: a deep sense of FREEDOM & feeling SAFE)

Lead by example my darling. If you cannot see a fitting example of what you want to see more of in this world.. please… I urge you: BE it!

We all struggle sometimes. Heck! I know I do! 😅

But I did notice that the people I love to hang out with, are the ones who know how to self regulate. They express what is alive in them, and are not scared to let the people around them know what would make life more wonderful for them.

Lesson here: the more you know your Self, and are able to connect to your own needs, the easier it is for you to be completely you! And the more relaxed it is for others around you, because they know they are not ‘responsible’ for constantly ‘scanning’ you for your subconscious needs.

I have been both: the constant scanner (hello trauma response, and being a ‘good flight attendant’) ànd the one unaware of what was alive in her and expecting others to just ‘know’ (hello disconnection from self).

The combination is often the root for self-abandonment. Not a popular nor ‘pretty’ word… but one I would like to make discuss-able. So we can all learn from each other. And so.. co-create a safe space. Where we all feel heard, seen and valued for who we are (not all our ‘alter egos’s’).

But, again, the groundwork for this safe space.. in my humble opinion… lie within ourselves. The fist step is always: start WITHIN.

Inner stability is a gift for both yourself as anyone you come into contact with.

It is my mission to share as much tools as I have learned over the last 2 decades or so, in the hope that we might co-create a kinder and more loving and ‘safe’ world together. For ourselves, and the generations to come.

Hey gorgeousness,

A little hello from my digital break here. A lot has been changing again… (isn’t it always) and I’m allowing myself some space to feel it through while processing the new decisions and directions it is taking me.

If you too are going through some changes, I can definitely recommend these support systems:

✨ DAYLIGHT/sunlight: expose yourself as often as possible to some natural daylight. Go on walks, sit on a terras, enjoy the brisk fall breeze and all autumn colours. Even if it’s cold and rainy outside: you will never regret having gone for a walk outside for some fresh air and daylight on your skin! (Especially in the morning ☀️)

✨ MOVEMENT: move your body in any way that feels good to you: yoga/dancing/jumping on a rebounder/fitness/shaking it out… you body needs movement to feel warm (get the juices flowing and enhance circulation) & energized in these darker days. 🏃‍♀️

✨ NOURISHMENT: feed yourself with nourishing healthy foods. Lots of healthy greens, veggies and fruits. Snack on seeds and nuts if needed. Try to stay away from ‘junkfood’ as they will steal away your energy and lust for life (not to mention your health). Your body will be grateful to you, and reward you with a radiant skin (hello holiday glow!)! ☺️🥬

✨ GRATITUDE & CONNECTION: in these western countries, we have a tendency to luck ourselves up in our homes, especially when it gets colder. Loneliness and sense of ‘lost connection’ really can affect your mindset AND health in a negative way. Make sure to keep meeting up with loved ones (yes, also in Real Life) and express how much they mean to you! It is said that a butterfly cannot see it’s own wings… so we too can use the uplifting feedback from those around us to feel seen, heard and appreciated. (Bc we tend to forget how amazing we are.) 🫂🙏💓

Love lettres…

I absolutely LOVE them! Both writing as recieving them. It is só incredibly nourishing to the soul and can really uplift both reciever as the writer of them!

It invites you to shift your focus from ‘all that is wrong with your life and this world’ to ‘what do I appreciate and cherish about this other person and how they contribute to my life.’

Such. A. Big. Game. Changer!!!

Truly!

It is one of my biggest go-to’s when feeling lonely, disconnected, useless, heart broken or stuck. It immediately shifts my perspective on Life and I start seeing all the good there still is (even though there is a lot of darkness that is being portrayed all around us).

I once heard: if you cannot find goodness, be the goodness.

And that stuck.

Currently single, not recieving a lot of love notes 🙈😅) I love continuing to write them: to friends, family, … even to myself and all of my parts.

Also: what you see in others lives for a certain part within yourself too. So if you have a hard time seeing it within yourself, I truly would love to invite you:

Find pen and paper, sit down and start writing a love lettre.

Feeling ballsy? Send it out to the one you write it to and double the pleasure!

“I feel irritated because I feel like I’m running behind!”

There is a LOT of pressure out there, and this might bring you in a reactive state (chicken without a head-syndrome): you start feeling pressured to do more, be faster, better, richer,… NOW! Now now now now now!!!!

But maybe all the body wants is to rest! And is in need of loving support. And being heard, without judgement. And being surrounded by loved ones.

My invitation to you today:

Be truly gentle with yourself, on all possible levels.

Tune in with your deeper layers, take a step back with me to slow down and observe within yourself:

“What is happening, and how is my body reacting to it? Is this nourishing to me or not? If not, how can I look at it from a different angle? Or is there any other way to support myself in this situation? (by stepping away from a job/relationship that no longer fulfills you, by assessing your habits and taking first steps in changing them, by allowing yourself to rest or ask for support,…)”

Whatever comes up, try to really holding space for that, and if needed, act upon your soul’s desires. Again, NOT from a space of Fear, but from a space of deep Trust, Love, Empathy and Care towards yourself. Because you know that the better you learn to take care of yourself, the better you will be able to hold space for others to show up fully too.

In a world that normalizes being ‘hard & fast’, I would like to invite you to SLOW down and reconnect with you inner wisdom and loving gentleness at your OWN pace.

Like nature, allow yourself to unfold in your own divine timing.

Why do we pressure ourselves to go faster, always faster? Missing all the beauty on the way, bc there is ‘no time’ for simple observation.
Let’s change that.

Let’s take a little moment to just observe all the beauty that is, right here, right now. And to tune in with our own deeper layers, checking in everybody still feels safe and cared for, and if not; how can we change that.

This, my darling, is called loving ownership.

Thrive at your own divine timing, following your souls purpose and invitations.

True empathy has become a rare thing.

When we listen to someone, we tend to immediately think of a response, an advise or our own stories as references. But true empathy asks something entirely different from us.

It requires us to listen, REALLY LISTEN to the other person. WITHOUT mixing in our own stories or feeling.

Just staying with the other person, 100%, is a skill we seem to have lost in our society. But, oh man, is it a deeply healing one. For both parties. The one speaking is recieving the gift of being fully seen and heard (a basic need we all have) without any for of judgement. Space is created for them to fully express what is alive in them. (And very often, when this is done, the answers and solutions will bubble up from within when doing this correctly.)

The listener is recieving the gift of true insight and new perspectives. And is released of the task to ‘fix’ anything. So no more heavy burden, just an open invitation to ‘hold the space’ in which the other can feel seen, heard and heal themselves. In a space free of judgement, filled with pure loving attention. Not alone. Together.

When people ask you how you are, do you also tend to answer with the non-answer “I'M FINE!"

My little insight:

Did you know that expressing what is alive in you, and actually be heard, can be one of the most healing things on the planet? Why? Because it means you are showing yourself, as you are. ALIVE!

When we avoid tuning in with our bodies on the other hand, living on autopilot. Not really knowing (or wanting to know) what is brewing within, we are unconsciously blocking our flow of energy. And our body will start talking louder and louder. Like little alarm bells going off indicating something’s off. If we keep ignoring these signals and gentle whispers, our bodies will start talking louder and louder and louder, until they start shouting.

And this is often the source of ‘mystery’ illnesses. Also called ‘diseases’.

DIS-EASE.

Literally meaning: not at ease. Out of balance.

If we want to go back to a state of EASE, we first need to dis-cover what is not working. And we can start by tuning in, and listening to our bodies. And our body speaks with us, in every single moment, through the language of feelings. Easy feelings mean our needs are getting met. Un-easy feelings mean our needs are not getting met.

By expressing our feelings, out loud (without judgement, but from a space of pure curiosity and Love) we are sending a love note to our body. To our nervous system even. It can relax, because it knows we have heard it. Even if we do not know yet what to do about it, just the listening with an open and loving heart, has a profoundly healing impact.

So next time someone asks you: “How are you?”

Please, please, please: see it as a warm invitation to take the moment to truly check in with your body.

“How am I feeling in this moment?”

And answer “I feel…”

And if you wish, add the second question:

“What would make life more wonderful right now?"

You body will be grateful to you. 💛
