This month, we’re spotlighting Afzelia Doussié, a sustainable and stable African wood with a natural durability class 1 and beautiful colors that range from light ochre to reddish-brown.

Afzelia Doussié features a uniform structure without a pronounced pattern. Thanks to its excellent properties—durability, strength, resistance to chemicals, stability, and appearance—Afzelia Doussié is perfect for a wide range of applications, including interior joinery, stairs, sports floors, interior and exterior cladding and garden furniture. It is also suitable for wagon and vehicle construction, shipbuilding, bridge decks, and barrels for chemical products.

Wood You Believe It?

This month, we’re spotlighting iroko, a highly durable, high-performance species of tropical hardwood prized for its golden-yellow hue that deepens over time to a luxurious copper brown.

Iroko timber has a medium-to-coarse but even texture. Like many tropical hardwoods, iroko has large, open pores that contribute to an interesting, characterful grain pattern.

Often dubbed 'African teak', iroko’s superb density, durability and stability lend to a wide range of applications such as decking, fencing, cladding, flooring and furniture.
