Timbtrack

Timbtrack Through its digital tree measurement devices and its forest management software, Timbtrack brings in And the help of our software.

Simplicity of use, Professionalism and Quality ... Those are our fundamental principles. For more than 2 years, we have been developing a portable device for volume measurement and GPS positionning in the forest with the purpose of helping individuals and professionals in this sector. Our goal is to reduce work load in inventories, logging procedures and forestry expertises thanks to the notes' creation, the species' library, etc. With Timbtrack, managing forests becomes intuitive !

In our previous post, we talked about wood traceability — from the forest to the final product 🪵

At the center of this process is the sawmill, where logs are transformed into boards and later into finished products 🪜🪑

This is exactly what Timbtrack enables: full wood traceability THROUGH the sawmill process 💪🏻

Recently, we were invited to implement this system in a sawmill in Mexico, on the Yucatán Peninsula — showing how important traceability has become worldwide 🇲🇽

Using barcodes or RFID tags, mobile scanning, GPS location, and real-time data collection, Timbtrack creates a complete digital chain of custody — from a standing tree in the forest to the final product 🌳🌴

We also support automated scanning with our antenna systems within the sawmill to help automate the process 📡

D’autres nouvelles du Mexique arrivent bientôt! 🪵🏝️

Two weeks ago, Timbtrack visited the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico to demonstrate our EUDR-ready wood traceability solution 🇲🇽

Together with local foresters in the Selva Maya tropical rainforest, we marked standing trees using our barcode forestry tags. 🪵 Each tree was scanned and linked with GPS location data and key information such as species, height, diameter, and circumference directly in the Timbtrack mobile app.

All data was then synchronized with the web platform, allowing the forestry company to trace every tree from the forest, through harvesting and sawmill processing, all the way to export — fully aligned with EUDR requirements. 🌴🌳

More from Mexico coming soon! 🪵🏝️

A week ago, the SWIFTT project consortium held a meeting at EUSPA (European Union Agency for the Space Program) in Prague, Czech Republic. The meeting was to midterm review the project.

The goal of the SWIFTT project is to help forest managers deal with forest threats such as insect outbreak, windstorm and fire. This solution will be possible by affordable, simple and effective remote sensing tools backed up by Copernicus satellite imagery and powerful machine learning models. Detecting and mapping the various risks to which forests and their managers are exposed using satellite imagery will enable early and appropriate action as well as reducing both ecological and economic damage.

Good afternoon everyone! 🪵

And the day has come for the final step of wood traceability process using RFID technology!

Once the wood has been transformed at the sawmill, we receive the finished product. From the very beginning of the transformation, each product was assigned an RFID tag, so it is possible to trace the entire path the product has taken. This final product, after leaving the sawmill, will still have an RFID tag applied, connected with the previous ones, so reading this tag in the further way of transport (e.g. to the store), will be possible.

This ensures that no log and then final product disappears along the way and its location is known.

And here is our solution in connection with the wood traceability process using RFID technology!

We hope that every step of this process was clearly understandable. However, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send them to: [email protected].

Thank you for your attention!

Good morning all of you!

Today we would like to move to the fifth step of wood traceability using RFID technology!

This step will include the transformation of the log at the sawmill. At each step of the log transformation, antennas will be installed to read their RFID tags. Thus, the antennas will register the logs at different stages of their transformation and change their status in the system. Thanks to that, the operator will be able to track each log’s exact location.

The wood traceability process is coming to an end. Next week you can already expect the final step of the process!

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send them here: [email protected].

Good morning everyone!

Today we would like to move on to the fourth step of the process of wood traceability using RFID! Curious?

In this step, the timber loaded onto the truck is delivered to the sawmill. Each log with earlier applied RFID tag is then scanned. Who or what will be responsible for the scanning? There are few possibilities. It will be done by the receptionist working at the sawmill, or by means of a special gate, on which satellites will be installed to read all the logs passing through it.

That is all for the step four. Already interested in step five? You will be able to read about it NEXT WEEK!

If you have any questions, please contact us here: [email protected].

Good morning everyone! 🌲

This week we come to you with step 3 of „Wood traceability”. In this step, the truck driver will scan RFID of all the logs that will then be loaded onto the truck.

Thanks to this, all identified and loaded logs on the truck will be traceable and their location can be checked.

If you have any questions regarding this step or the previous ones, don’t hesitate to ask us!
