The submission platform for the IKUWA8 Proceedings is now open.

Key information:
• Articles should be approximately 5000 words
• Up to six figures and/or tables may be included
• Submissions must be written in English
• Authors will be asked to suggest three potential peer reviewers

The submission portal is open from 1 May until the end of September 2026.

It’s hard to believe the IKUWA conference was four months ago already… But the story of IKUWA 8 is not finished yet!

As promised on the final day of the conference, all contributors will be given the chance to publish an article on the work they presented in Oostende (keynotes, papers and posters). For the publication, the Flanders Heritage Agency and the Flanders Marine Institute decided to work with Archaeopress Publishing. To get an idea of what the publication will look like, have a look at the IKUWA 6 proceedings.

A website is set up where you can register, and where you will find the practical instructions for your submission. Articles should be around 5000 words, and up to six figures and/or tables may be included. Articles must be written in English.

The submission portal will be open from May 1st until the end of September. We aim to publish by the end of 2027 at the latest. The final papers will be published in print and online in Open Access.

We hope to see a great number of submissions, so we can make the proceedings as much a success as the conference!
