Recruitment 3.0 is a new perspective on talent acquisition that combines recruiting methods with employer branding to help companies recruit great employees while reducing hiring costs and time. Generally speaking, Web 3.0 will shape many changes in the recruitment process, among which:

1. Expansion of talent search
Recruitment in Web 3.0 is very informal, since most Web 3.0 groups are formed on
Telegram, Twitter and Discord, recruitment is also more often done there.

2. Access to a talent pool
Employers can directly consult the profiles and experiences of candidates via the
blockchain, and the results cannot be falsified. They can objectively evaluate the skills and experience of candidates through their Web 3.0 profile. This speeds up the hiring process and reduces time spent on assessment tests and interviews.

3. Decentralized recruitment
With the emergence of decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), potential
employees are viewed as collaborators, not actual ones, and the freelancers do not
have to pay to contact employers. With this approach, talents can connect with clients through decentralized networks (rather than freelancing sites).

4. Artificial Intelligence technology
Effective selection of candidates based on defined criteria, creation of databases of
candidates, conducting interviews and solving participant’s problems are amongst the most important AI value-adds in recruitment.

These solutions will make a difference in reducing the time and effort required to
complete these time-consuming activities.

4️⃣ Platforms (operating system, virtualization, containers)
Certain skills that are in high demand in cloud environments will also be handy in edge environments. Again, standardization and consistency at the edge will be key.

5️⃣ Security
Edge security will be of the utmost importance. As a result, security experts will be in high demand too. Security skills and knowledge in the matter are a must-have if you are looking for a career in edge computing.

5 essentials for developing the skillsets of IT professionals

1️⃣ Create “learning” communities
Create communities around various IT-related for people to interact, learn, collaborate, and even design organizational improvements. Let them be creative and come up with new ideas to improve your business.

2️⃣ Allow staff to take initiatives
Allow your staff to take initiatives or to subscribe to relevant IT trainings by themselves. Foster ownership of their own development and learning process. Make sure also they can allocate the necessary time and budget into these trainings.

3️⃣ Provide technology education programs – with coaching
Building up practical learning opportunities and other training resources necessary is essential to create a team that has the proper credentials (skills and practices), not just on paper but also to favor for practical & visible improvements in their day-to-day jobs.

4️⃣ Leverage internal coaching opportunities
Assign managers and other senior staff to areas of expertise. Empower them to coach the next generation of IT employees. With on-staff experts providing training themselves, you’ll develop a culture of continuous learning and growth.

5️⃣ Adopt an agile mindset
Real agility requires trust, quick response and communication. A certification can’t teach that, but a coach can. Think less of flashy perks, yet more of valuable development opportunities for employees.

Retaining IT talents: 3 tips for better training opportunities

Employees need to see a future in your company if you want them to stay. One of the best ways is to provide them with training and development opportunities, especially in ICT.

IT is changing fast and skills such as "agile methodologies, continuous integration and systems integration" are often learned on the job.
Evolution is sometimes so fast that by the time these skills get acquired, they become already obsolete. The only solution is to live in a constant state of improvement.

Some tips for IT professional development training:
1️⃣ Allow your staff to take initiatives
It is important to let your employees develop their skills by giving them a certain degree of independence. A CoP (community of practice) is for instance a very good way to let your employees interact, learn and collaborate. Employees can own their own future and skillset development

2️⃣ Allocate resources to self-learning
In order for your staff to have the opportunity to create a CoP, you need to give them the resources they need.
It is worth giving each employee a training and development budget without direct control. Allow them to choose what they want to improve as they probably know better what they need to upgrade and what they are interested in

3️⃣ Internal coaching
You certainly have experts among your staff. Give them the means to mentor the next generation of IT profiles. That’s how you develop a culture of constant learning and knowledge transmission

4 ways remote leaders can build soft skills.

Leaders need to make extra efforts to maintain relationships and build strong teams in a remote work setup. Here are some tips on how to do it :
1️⃣ Prioritize post-meeting interactions
The famous “meeting after the meeting”. Ask your coworkers how they feel about the decisions made or about how the meeting went in general

2️⃣ Proactively engage with your team
Regularly schedule feedback sessions and one-on-one meetings. Gain and maintain the trust of your staff. Show them you understand their feels and concerns

3️⃣ Be fully present
Even during video calls, remain present and focused on the conversation. Keep your eyes on one screen and be attentive when other people are talking, eliminate distractions around you. It will help you to listen better and be engaged

4️⃣ Seek out in-person opportunities
When you can afford it, bring your team together in person to reconnect. Time spent together builds trust, relationships and better communication. We are all human beings who need direct physical interaction, and work is no exception to that
