The role of ring finger protein 43 in DNA repair is not well understood. Its altered expression has associated with various types of cancer. Authors at Mahidol University (Thailand) used transfection to establish a knockout cell line to study DNA repair pathways and used Blasticidin S and Puromycin to select for transformants. This could lead to a better understanding of this protein in repair pathways.

Researchers found that the polypeptide Bacitracin has promise for coagulation disorders related to Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This compound inhibited protein disulfate isomerase which regulates procoagulant activity.
