The international colloquium . Creativity, Innovation and Dialogue for Inclusive Development has just ended. Organised by the EU's Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development in Brussels on the 16-17 June, it has gathered more than 400 culture professionals and policy makers from Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. During two days, 8 working groups have brainstormed on key and stringent issues such as the new opportunities for job creation and inclusiveness offered by cultural and creative industries, the challenge of financing, access to market and mobility of artists and the digital revolution. Values, ideas and recommendations have flown into a final Manifesto, advocating for a better recognition of the role of culture and creativity in human, social and economic development, and drafting a roadmap for future action by the EU, international organisations, public bodies but also the private sector and civil society.
