Een leeg podium. Licht aan. Doek erin. En ineens is alles anders. ✨

Tijdens het Gala van het Nederlands Theater 2026 vormden de geschilderde achterdoeken van ShowTex het decor voor de winnaars, de speeches en het applaus. Doeken met een geschiedenis: sommige dragen zelfs een brandweerstempel uit de jaren dertig.

Dit jaar kregen ze opnieuw een plek in de schijnwerpers. Een ode aan het theaterambacht én een mooi voorbeeld van wat hergebruik kan opleveren.

Maar wat kan een doek eigenlijk allemaal doen? Neem een kijkje achter de schermen en ontdek hoe textiel, licht en vakmanschap samen een podium tot leven brengen.

Robyn’s Sexistential Tour has been keeping us busy!

A stage design that travels the world needs more than good looks. For Robyn’s tour, custom-curved curtain tracks and stage drapes are made to handle repeated load-ins, performances, load-outs and transport from one venue to the next.

Golden fringes, moving lights and a little sparkle ✨

For Sombr’s live performance at the BRIT Awards, golden SlitDrape created a shimmering backdrop that changed with the light. Its lightweight metallic fringes caught and reflected the stage lighting strand by strand, shimmering with every gentle puff of air.

Same stage, different mood as the sun goes down.

For Froukje’s outdoor concerts, the backdrop was designed to work with whatever the evening brought. Daylight, stage lighting and even the breeze all changed how the combination of matte PVC strips and silver fringe looked and moved.

The whole setup travelled with Froukje on a custom-curved track throughout her summer solo tour.

How do you create a bold exhibition stand that can adapt to every event on your calendar?

At Bokmässan Göteborg Book Fair, Kosmonaut Events created a monochrome stand using bright blue DekoTaft drapes on the EasyDrape pipe-and-drape system.

For KML’s SS27 presentation at the Institut du Monde Arabe, a custom DekoTaft canopy hung from the ceiling above the models.

Draped overhead and softly backlit, the semi-shiny fabric diffused the light as barefoot models moved beneath it, creating a quiet setting away from the traditional runway format.
