The knowledge-sharing of the Open Destinations | Tourism for All 2026 forum in Sofia was a turning point for Bulgaria. It is highlighting the complex journey of co-creating sustainable, inclusive tourism as a living ecosystem.
It was an honour to join the discussion on collaboration and cross-sector partnerships for experiences relevant to diverse ranges of ability and different generations and the growing demand for connection.
Our contribution on REVITALISE stressed upskilling for adaptive tourism, grounded in experiences co-designed with artists, designers, creatives and local partners and communities, to ensure authenticity and accessibility.
Hybrid audiences and immersive experiences are evidently a path forward as the ‘Humans at Play’ (linking gaming industry creatives, educators, and audiences) and projects (Southeast Europe’s first regional incubator for creatives) prove. Digital creativity and youth engagement effectively empower people with diverse abilities and create lasting impact in fragile nature-cultural heritage destinations.
Our proposal is to collaborate on new skills training formats and cross-sectoral partnerships to make inclusive design the cornerstone of tourism’s future. Stay tuned for more news!
