🦷 Advanced periodontitis at 30 — Full-mouth rehabilitation with basal implants.

A 30-year-old patient from France presented with severe periodontitis and significant tooth mobility, requiring the extraction of all remaining teeth.

Following a comprehensive clinical assessment, 20 basal implants were placed as part of a two-stage rehabilitation:

📅 September 2025 — Extractions, implant placement and restoration of fixed dentition, allowing the patient to regain chewing function and smile aesthetics.

📅 September 2026 — Completion of the second treatment stage.

🔬 Why basal implantology in complex clinical cases?

✅ Stable anchorage in dense cortical bone
✅ A treatment option even in cases of significant bone loss
✅ Early restoration of fixed teeth when clinical conditions allow
✅ Reduced need for bone grafting in suitable cases

✨ This Before/After illustrates the importance of individualised treatment planning in restoring dental function and aesthetics, even in complex periodontal cases.

🦷 How Does Basal Implantology Work?
From the extraction of compromised teeth to the placement of basal implants and the fitting of a fixed prosthesis — this video illustrates the key stages of a full-mouth dental rehabilitation.
🔬 Each step is carefully planned to restore fixed teeth, stable function, and balanced occlusion, while tailoring the treatment to the patient’s anatomy.

🦷 Can BAx® basal implants be used to replace a single tooth?

In dental implantology, several treatment options are available — but the same protocol is not suitable for every clinical situation.

BAx® basal implantology is primarily intended for full-mouth or extensive dental rehabilitations, where multiple implants work together as part of a stabilized system.

For a single missing tooth or a small segment, a conventional implant approach may be more appropriate.

🔬 The choice of implant depends above all on the clinical indication.

🦷 MYTH: Basal implants are larger and more invasive than conventional implants.

🔬 REALITY: Basal implantology is defined primarily by the area and type of implant anchorage — particularly anchorage in dense cortical bone.

Modern BAx® implants have a specific design and should not be confused with zygomatic implants, which rely on a different anatomical and surgical approach.

Different implant systems are based on different biomechanical principles.

🦷 Is periodontitis hereditary?

If several members of the same family suffer from gum problems, one question naturally arises: are we genetically predisposed?

🔬 Genetics can influence our immune response and susceptibility to inflammation, but it is not the only factor. Oral hygiene, smoking, diabetes, and other factors also play an important role.

👉 Can we reduce the risk despite a genetic predisposition?

Learn whether periodontitis is hereditary, what raises your risk, and how to protect your gums with practical, expert-backed advice.

🦷 A complete rehabilitation is not only about the teeth and implants. Soft tissues also play an essential role.

✅ When several compromised teeth need to be extracted, the gingival tissues must be carefully managed to create a stable and harmonious foundation for the future prosthesis.

During BAx® treatment, gingivoplasty may be performed when clinically indicated to reshape the soft tissues and improve their relationship with the fixed restoration.

🔬 The goal is both functional and aesthetic: to create a harmonious transition between the gums and the new teeth while contributing to a natural-looking smile.

🦷 Behind every treatment, there is a personal journey.

Choosing to restore your smile, especially after years of dental difficulties, is an important decision built above all on trust.

Today, one of our patients shares his experience with Anveli Dental, from the beginning of his treatment journey to the final result. ✨

His testimonial reflects what matters most to us: a rigorous medical approach, attentive support, and dedicated care at every stage of the treatment.

🦷 Implant surgery begins even before the patient enters the operating room.

Panoramic imaging and 3D dental scans allow the medical team to assess the dentomaxillary anatomy before the placement of BAx® implants.

🔬 The surgeon evaluates the available cortical anchorage, anatomical boundaries, implant position and orientation, as well as their relationship with the future prosthesis.

This planning becomes particularly important in cases of advanced bone atrophy, when conventional implant positions are no longer available.

Fixed teeth are the visible result for the patient — but rehabilitation begins with a precise diagnosis.

✨ Why can just a few millimetres transform an entire smile?

Because the aesthetics of a smile depend largely on proportion.
The width and length of the front teeth, their axes, incisal edges, gingival contours, and relationship with the lips directly influence facial harmony.

🦷 The aim is not to make every tooth identical. Natural teeth are not identical.
Instead, the treatment aims to create controlled symmetry while preserving the individual character of the smile.

This Before & After shows how precise adjustments to proportion, alignment, and shade can transform the entire smile.
