🔔 New Vendor Partnership with Blackwall: Building True Resilience

Recently, we’ve discussed how repeated global outages highlight a growing challenge: the internet’s heavy dependence on a few dominant infrastructure providers. Today, we’re excited to share an important step toward greater resilience, diversity, and control.

✨ DCD‑IT is proud to announce its partnership with Blackwall — a European AI-enabled security and web infrastructure provider built for a safer, more reliable internet.

Blackwall strengthens digital ecosystems with intelligent, high-performance solutions engineered to reduce dependency on single-provider architectures and safeguard against automated threats. Blackwall works closely with Hosting Service Providers, Managed Service Providers, and eCommerce platforms to ensure robust defence and high availability for millions of sites and applications globally.

📌 Why Blackwall?

Because our clients deserve infrastructure that remains:
🔹 Secure: with advanced AI-powered protection against automated and bot-driven attacks
🔹 Resilient: designed to withstand disruption and eliminate single points of failure

🔮 Top Cybersecurity Predictions for 2026

As we step into 2026, one thing is clear: cybersecurity isn’t slowing down – it’s evolving faster than ever. From AI-driven attacks to post-quantum security, the coming year will challenge businesses to reassess their resilience and innovation strategies.

Here are the key trends experts predict for 2026:

1️⃣ Agentic AI Attacks
Autonomous AI agents will become independent attack vectors, possessing greater capabilities to perform multistep operations and interact with real systems.

2️⃣ AI-Powered Social Engineering
The growing prevalence of deepfakes and highly personalised scams will make it increasingly difficult to spot deception. As a result, we can expect a surge in extortion scams.

3️⃣ AI-Driven Automated Ransomware
AI-driven ransomware will autonomously exploit vulnerabilities for extortion, focusing on data extraction rather than traditional encryption methods.

4️⃣ AI Insider Threats
Autonomous agents with privileged access will need new firewalls and monitoring systems specifically designed for AI.

5️⃣ Post-Quantum Security Race
Organisations need to adopt quantum-safe cryptography to protect data from future quantum decryption threats posed by “harvest now, decrypt later” strategies.

6️⃣ Advanced Persistent Threat & Cybercrime Convergence
Nation-state actors and criminal organisations will collaborate by sharing infrastructure, making it difficult to identify perpetrators and increasing the scale of global attacks.

7️⃣ Supply Chain & Infrastructure Attacks
Anticipate increased targeting of logistics, satellites, and intelligent transportation systems. Outages will become geopolitical weapons.

8️⃣ Browser-Based Zero-Trust Workspaces
As web browsers become the main interface for enterprise operations, we can anticipate a shift towards cloud-native zero-trust security frameworks, emphasising the importance of strong identity verification and access controls in remote work settings.

9️⃣ Identity-Based Security
With VPNs fading, identity-based security and ZTNA (zero-trust network access) will take the lead in protecting against session hijacking.

🔟 Spread of “Lazy Thinking”
GenAI overuse may lead to a decline in critical thinking skills, which has prompted 50% of organisations to introduce assessments that evaluate skills without the use of AI.

Bonus Predictions:
✅ AI vs AI Cyber Battles: Defensive AI will fight offensive AI in real time.
✅ Cybersecurity for Synthetic Media: Detecting deepfake content will become a core security function.
✅ Regulatory Surge: Expect stricter global compliance frameworks for AI governance and quantum readiness.

What does this mean for businesses?
2026 will demand multi-layered security, AI governance, and future-proof strategies. The question isn’t if these trends will impact you – it’s how prepared you are.

💬 Which prediction do you think will have the biggest impact?
Let’s discuss in the comments.

🌐 Oops… Cloudflare Did It Again!

Another outage hit today – shorter than last time, but still enough to remind us how fragile the web can be when it depends on a handful of providers.

On December 5, Cloudflare went down for about 30–40 minutes, affecting up to 20% of websites globally. Big names like Zoom, LinkedIn, Shopify, X, Spotify, and Canva showed 500 Internal Server Errors. Even worse? This comes just weeks after the major November 18 incident.

📌 What happened?

A change to Cloudflare’s Web Application Firewall temporarily disabled features while fixing a vulnerability. No cyberattack, just a misstep in a single, centralised control system with global consequences.

🚨 The real issue

Two major outages in a few weeks = a wake-up call.
Convenience is great… until it isn’t.
Resilience isn’t just a buzzword. It means diversifying your tech stack, building redundancy, and keeping control of your data. Relying on one provider is like putting all your eggs in one basket – and then handing the basket to someone else.

💡 Meet Blackwall: Our Alternative
We’ve partnered with Blackwall, a European AI-driven security and web infrastructure company that:

✅ Protects against automated threats
✅ Delivers AI-enabled traffic management
✅ Strengthens resilience for hosting providers, cloud platforms, and enterprise networks

Engineered by engineers for engineers, Blackwall ensures your digital services stay secure, scalable, and independent.

🌐 When the Internet Pauses: Lessons from the Cloudflare Outage

On November 18, a widespread Cloudflare outage disrupted major digital services globally, including X, Gemini, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google Cloud, Canva, and even gaming giants like League of Legends and Valorant. Millions of users faced slow-loading pages or complete downtime. Ironically, even Downdetector, the site that reports outages, went offline for a while.

This follows a similar AWS outage in October, reminding us how fragile the web’s backbone can be.

📑 What happened?
1️⃣ Cloudflare, a US-based company, powers a huge portion of the internet by providing Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), cybersecurity solutions and DDoS protection and acting as a protective layer between websites and visitors.
2️⃣ A faulty database change created an oversized file that broke Cloudflare’s traffic system. This file, used by the Bot Management system, doubled in size and propagated across Cloudflare’s global network, causing software failures and traffic disruptions.
3️⃣ Cloudflare engineers identified the issue and rolled out a fix within hours.

🚨 The bigger lesson
This outage highlights the internet’s heavy reliance on a few global providers (mainly US-based) and prompts a reevaluation of how we design and deliver digital services. True resilience means:
✅ Diversifying tech stacks
✅ Building redundancy
✅ Maintaining control over your data

Convenience should never outweigh resilience. We need to ensure organisations are not tied to one platform by having alternative solutions in place.

💡 Our Alternative: Blackwall
To reduce dependency on global giants, DCD-IT partners with Blackwall, a European AI-driven security and web infrastructure company. Blackwall delivers:
✅ AI-enabled traffic management
✅ Advanced intelligent protection against automated threats
✅ Scalable, resilient solutions for hosting providers, cloud platforms, and enterprise networks

If you want to be less dependent on the global providers, to strengthen resilience and to diversify your tech stack, let’s talk.
