“ …WineBizz is one very useful and timely project which is aiming to establish relations and contacts between Bulgaria and Armenia. The project helps for improving the access to information for the business climate in both countries and the work of the wine producers and all the business support organizations that consult them. The last day of the Study Visit of the Armenian BSOs representatives ended with an official meeting with Ambassador Yedigarian in the Embassy of Armenia in Sofia. He was introduced with the project, all the project activities that were implemented and the exchanged knowledge, impressions and know-how. There was a discussion how the efforts in supporting the Bulgarian-Armenian business releations shall continue. One identified niche was the promotion and dissemination of information for the physical fairs and exhibitions which are yearly organised in both countries. The Ambassador confirmed his interest to support similar initiatives in the future and congratulated the project partners for initiating this project idea.

The third day of the Study visit of Armenian BSOs representatives in Bulgarian started with on the spot visit to a wine company Balar, which is situated near Yambol and is a good example and mid-sized but very innovative and creative company. They are producing high-class products, and they shared with the Armenian consultant what kind and services and advice they used over the years in order to establish themselves as niche market leaders. Their products are sold mainly in specialised wine stores, and some of the wines are bought by wine collectors from Europe.

The agenda of the working day continued with a very productive meeting in Burgas Chamber of Commerce and Industry.The Burgas region is also well known region for production of wine because of its geographical characteristics. The Chamber of Commerce from Burgas shared their experience in consulting wineries and chateau how to provide competitive products on the Bulgarian and EU market. Because of the very good touristic characteristics of the region, the wineries are also advised to combine their wine production with some kind of touristic packages. The representatives had a fruitful discussion and laid the groundwork for future cooperation.

The second day of the Study Visit in Yambol,Bulgaria continues with the training in the morning. During the morning training session, the lecturer focused on how business support organisations could support and prepare their clients to take the most when they participate in physicial, hybrid and online meetings, fairs and exhibitions. The trainees shared experiance for the good and bad sides of the recent most common online events and the feedback of the companies.

In the afternoon, the Armenian delegation had a meeting with the Mayor of Tundzha municipality which is a municipality uniting only villages around Yambol. In the meeting there were representatives of the Local Action Group-Thundzha. In the duration of 1 hour they discussed the wine production on Thundzha territory and how the Municipality and LAG support the wine producers. The Mayor and his team assuared the Armenian delegation that they will provide them support if the would to connect Bulgarian and Armenian companies in the wine sector but also in other agricultural ones.

The agenda of the event ended with a visit to the winery Windy Hills which is a midium size winery but they managed to fined their place on the EU market. They shared their experiance in using digital marketing strategies and also combining tourism products with wine tours.

The last physical activity of the project has already started.

Capacity building acitivity targeted to representatives of Armenian Business support organisations started on 18.09.2022 in Yambol,Bulgaria. The training is aiming to provide them with new skills which will help them, later on to support their clients in developing their marketing strategies. The training is focused especially on supporting companies from the wine sector.

The training is planned for a day and a half. The first day passed very interactive, covering topics such a branding, developing attractive website,ensuring online presence in the social platforms, optimising online presences. The group share experiance and the trainer compared it to the need of the wine companies working on the EU market.

The agenda of the study visit continues tomorrow, when the training is continuing and several meetings and on the spot visits are planned.
