Link BIO Approximately 10 years ago, in 2010, I decided to stop doing Faixa Preta magazine to dedicate myself to a big project that I had, teaching jiu-jitsu classes. I started working in jiu-jitsu journalism in 1997 and until 2010 I was dedicated to my journalistic side, but jiu-jitsu attracted me to try and become a teacher.
It was not easy, even more, when you are from Copacabana, a mecca of jiu-jitsu in the world, but everything worked out and I spent years teaching and traveling the planet holding seminars and making great friends. The best thing was how good it is to be received by people who are passionate about Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
In this year of 2020 we were all surprised by the pandemic and as everything stopped, I found the necessary time to organize a new project and that’s when redefighter.com came up and so I returned to my beginning, I’m a journalist again! With the support of friends from the é fight world, family, and God, everything went well and here we are, launching a new fighting vehicle and returning with Black Belt magazine, created in 2002 as a free newspaper in the city of Rio de Janeiro, sold on newsstands in the Southeast and to top it all off, became the first digital fight magazine.
In this return I decided to pay homage to the women fighters, who in these years as a spectator left me enchanted. The evolution of MMA in the women’s world was huge and will continue, as they continue to do cutting-edge work! In this edition we did two sensational interviews with former UFC champion Jéssica Andrade and Invicta FC champion Julija Stolianenko. Jiu-jitsu in the magazine comes very well represented with the black belt, Deborah Gracie, who published the book “Hespect”, excellent for those who need to communicate in academies and gyms around the world.
The good news is that the magazine is also back to being published in English as in the past, with all of our content available to everyone. Enjoy the new edition of the Faixa Preta magazine, and don’t forget to share it with your friends.
Thank you!
