A SuperUber criou a exposição permanente do Memorial do Holocausto Rio. Após um período de reestruturação institucional, o Memorial reabre ao público de quinta a domingo, das 10h às 17h.

A exposição parte de um princípio essencial: lembrar para não repetir. Um alerta que a história já nos deu, e que ainda insistimos em ignorar. O Memorial preserva a memória das vítimas do Holocausto e promove educação e consciência histórica para visitantes de todas as idades.

SuperUber created the permanent exhibition of the Rio Holocaust Memorial. After a period of institutional restructuring, the Memorial reopens to the public Thursday through Sunday, from 10am to 5pm.

The exhibition is built around an essential principle: remember, so it is never repeated. A warning history has already given us — and one we still insist on ignoring. The Memorial preserves the memory of the victims of the Holocaust and promotes education and historical awareness for visitors of all ages.

🇧🇷 SuperUber indica: na série sobre artistas que admiramos, hoje é dia de Guto Nóbrega e Vamoss.

Guto Nóbrega é um pioneiro na arte interdisciplinar, artista e pesquisador. É professor de pós-graduação em artes visuais na UFRJ, onde fundou o Núcleo de Arte e Novos Organismos, explorando as fronteiras entre arte, ciência e tecnologia.

Suas obras são exibidas globalmente. Uma obra que amamos é a instalação “Breathing”, onde a interação entre observador e planta explora novas formas de experiência artística.

Vamoss é artista programador e, para nossa alegria, é diretor de tecnologia da SuperUber há mais de dez anos!

Em seus trabalhos, utiliza o código como matéria prima para criar projetos de arte gerativa, engajar a comunidade de artistas-programadores e motivar a produção de arte digital no Brasil. Um exemplo é sua recente exposição Arte de Código Aberto, que passou por instituições culturais como o Museu do Amanhã.

🇺🇸 SuperUber presents: in our series about artists we admire, today we feature Guto Nóbrega and Vamoss.

Guto Nóbrega is a pioneer in interdisciplinary art, both an artist and a researcher. He is a professor of postgraduate visual arts at UFRJ, where he founded the Art and New Organisms Center, exploring the boundaries between art, science, and technology.

His works are exhibited globally. One piece we love is the installation “Breathing,” where the interaction between observer and plant explores new forms of artistic experience.

Vamoss is a programming artist and, to our delight, has been the technology director at SuperUber for over ten years!

In his work, he uses code as raw material to create generative art projects, engage the artist-programmer community, and promote the production of digital art in Brazil. An example is his recent exhibition “Open Code Art,” which was showcased at cultural institutions like the Museum of Tomorrow.

🇧🇷 SuperUber indica: artistas que admiramos!

Aqui na SU, somos inspirados por muitos artistas, brasileiros e internacionais. Em suas criações, são artistas que expandem as fronteiras da arte com a tecnologia, criando projetos inovadores!

Hoje vamos conhecer um pouco da paulista Rejane Cantoni e da irlandesa Laura Buckley.

Rejane Cantoni é uma artista brasileira conhecida por suas instalações que exploram a relação entre arte, tecnologia e interatividade. Nascida em São Paulo, suas obras utilizam tecnologias como sensores e mecanismos robóticos, além de superfícies reflexivas para criar experiências imersivas e participativas.

As obras de Laura Buckley tem semelhança com o de Rejane Cantoni. Laura foi uma artista irlandesa conhecida por suas instalações imersivas que exploram temas de percepção e realidade, incorporando elementos de vídeo, luz, som, vidros coloridos e espelhos, criando experiências que desafiam as fronteiras entre o físico e o digital.

🇺🇸 Rejane Cantoni is a Brazilian artist known for her installations that explore the relationship between art, technology, and interactivity. Born in São Paulo, her works utilize technologies such as sensors and robotic mechanisms, as well as reflective surfaces, to create immersive and participatory experiences.

The works of Laura Buckley bear similarity to those of Rejane Cantoni. Laura was an Irish artist known for her immersive installations that explore themes of perception and reality, incorporating elements of video, light, sound, colored glass, and mirrors, creating experiences that challenge the boundaries between the physical and the digital.

🇧🇷 Técnica que transforma objetos físicos em superfícies de projeção de vídeo, adicionando movimento e criando ilusões de ótica.

O mapping projeta animações, vídeos ou informações digitais em superfícies físicas, como esculturas, arquitetura interna e até mesmo fachadas de edifícios. O mapping ajusta as imagens à forma do objeto, criando efeitos visuais e misturando o mundo virtual e o físico com luz, cor e movimento. A SuperUber começou a experimentar com mapping em 2006 em esculturas e arquitetura.

Destacamos alguns projetos da SU que usam mapping: o cenário para performance da Beyoncé na ONU em NY, o cenário para programas do canal SporTV, a Cerimônia de encerramento da Rio 2016. Na instalação Octocloud, por exemplo, animação reage em tempo real à forma física da escultura, como se a gravidade atuasse na animação.

🇺🇸 Technique that transforms physical objects into video projection surfaces, adding motion and creating optical illusions.

The mapping technique projects animations, videos, or digital information onto physical surfaces, such as sculptures, internal architecture, and even building facades. Mapping adjusts the images to the shape of the object, creating visual effects and blending the virtual and physical worlds with light, color, and movement. SuperUber began experimenting with mapping in 2006 on sculptures and architecture.

Here are some SU projects that use mapping: the set for Beyoncé’s performance at the UN in NY, the set for SporTV channel programs, the Closing Ceremony of Rio 2016. In the Octocloud installation, for example, the animation reacts in real-time to the physical shape of the sculpture, as if gravity acted on the animation.

Pensando nisso, iniciamos hoje a série “Glossário SuperUber”. A ideia é compartilhar conhecimento, contando um pouco mais do significado dessas palavras e mostrando exemplos no nosso portfólio. Vamos lá!

Criptoarte - Arte digital que é comprada, vendida e verificada usando tecnologia blockchain, garantindo autenticidade e propriedade por meio de tokens não fungíveis (NFTs).

Blockchain - Registro de transações de cripto ativos distribuídas de forma descentralizada, que mantém a integridade e a confiabilidade dos dados sobre as negociações financeiras e de obras de arte.

No portfólio da SU, participamos em 2022 da primeira edição da exposição “Exposição NFT Rio” no Parque Lage em parceria com o .rio. Criamos o design da exibição imersiva e interativa, que traduzia o momento atual da arte digital.

Cryptoart - Digital art that is bought, sold, and verified using blockchain technology, ensuring authenticity and ownership through non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Blockchain - A decentralized ledger of cryptocurrency transactions that maintains the integrity and reliability of data on financial transactions and works of art.

In SU’s portfolio, we participated in the first edition of the “NFT Rio Exhibition” at Parque Lage in 2022 in partnership with .rio. We created the design for the immersive and interactive exhibition, which reflected the current moment of digital art.
