Company Formations in Brazil

Companies are formed at state level, it is usually best to to find an accountant in the major city where you intend to offer your products and services. We are able to assist you with all aspects of your company formation in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.

For a service company, you should plan for 2 months to be registered, for a company that will import or export, you should plan 4 months in advance for the company to be registered.

We can provide you with a company registration number called the CNPJ quite quickly and is not dependent on you choosing any of our other services but the company formation documents require that you provides us with the name of the accountant and the address of your business.

We fully understand that many of our clients already have a lawyer or account to act on their behalf, we can work with them to have you operational as quickly as possible. Offering your Product or Service in Brazil

There are a number of issues which, anyone contemplating bringing their products and services to Brazil should be aware of, because ignorance of them can have costly consequences.

Having a limited liability company name or business name registration does NOT necessarily allow use of that name and provides trade mark protection throughout the country. Not so! First of all, companies are registered at State level, the only way to obtain exclusive rights to, and protect, the name under which you wish to trade is by way of trademark registration.

A trademark provides exclusive rights so that another company, both domestic and international cannot legally use an identical or confusingly similar trade mark to an earlier registration.
Best not attempt to market goods or services until the identity under which you intend to trade has been cleared for use. Therefore it is essential that, before using a new identity, a search is made of the trade mark registers to ensure that it does not infringe the rights of others. our expert advice is advisable because what appears to be clear to the untrained eye may, in fact, conceal a sustainable objection from a rival. Once it has been established that the way is clear the trademark should be applied for registration immediately and so secure the position.

Any existing businesses who have not as yet registered their portfolio of trade marks should do so now. In some cases the value of a business is the value of its trademarks.

In Brazil Trademarks are filed as individual classes. Once granted, a Trademark is valid for ten years and is renewable for successive ten-year periods. We add your trademarks to our database for weekly monitoring and quarterly manual search.
