You might be surprised to learn that São Paulo has been ranked the 5th greenest city in the world by the consultancy company Resonance! One of the criteria for the ranking was availability of open air markets (feira livre). We all know that São Paulo is filled with neighborhood farmer’s markets. By the way, Vienna in Austria was ranked the world’s number one greenest city. Congratulations São Paulo!

I tried to translate the first stanza of this Frank Sinatra song, "I Like the Sunrise." into Portuguese:

Can you believe that Milton Nascimento released this song way back in 1969, from an album called "Courage?" It is interesting that the English title is "Bridges." The original Portuguese title is "Travessia." I wonder why the translators didn't call the song "Crossing" or "Traverse." I really admire translators of songs, books, and movie scripts. Translation is, in itself, a form of art.
